We work within a very collaborative environment with distributed teams that empower you to be successful in your work.What you get to do in this role: <ul><li>Design software for operating PostgreSQL databases in production that is simple to use and integrates at scale.</li><li>Work with stakeholders to understand detailed requirements.</li><li>Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture, testing, and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)</li><li>Work with a team that owns the technological choices and their code from design, implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality features.</li><li>Work in an environment with a strong collaboration and knowledge-sharing spirit.</li><li>Work in an international team with colleagues in Europe and the USA.</li></ul>To be successful in this role you have:<ul><li>Expertise in managing and operating databases in production, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle.</li><li>Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.</li><li>Experience in collaborating and negotiating with senior technical stakeholders to discover and understand complex requirements for a task or problem.</li><li>Linux experience that includes a deep knowledge and understanding of its internals.</li><li>Excellent technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis of issues in production.</li><li>Experience in these languages &amp; tools: Ruby, Puppet, Jenkins.</li><li>Experience with CI/CD systems: Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.</li><li>Enjoy collaborating with engineering teams located in different time zones (PT, ET, CET)</li><li>Great analytical and design skills.</li><li>Excellent communication, networking, and self-management skills.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AIs potential impact on the function or industry.</li><li>Experience In using AI Productivity tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, etc is a plus or nice to have</li><li>6+ years of hands-on experience with backend development</li><li>Experience in operating and maintaining relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MariaDB in production. This includes knowledge of management features such as backups, high availability and replication.</li><li>Demonstrated experience operating Kubernetes at scale, including a deep understanding of cluster administration.</li><li>Experience in Linux: CentOS, RedHat, etc, </li><li>Experienced in scripting languages such as Ruby, Puppet, Python, or Go.</li></ul>  For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $155,800 - $272,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs.
