You will serve as a product owner for internal data governance platforms, partner with cross-functional teams to align on compliance and ownership standards, and promote a culture of data stewardship across the company.What you get to do in this role:   <ul><li>Data Governance Strategy Execution<ul><li>Drive the data governance roadmap aligned with product, engineering, and business goals.</li><li>Design and implement scalable frameworks to ensure data trust, security, and platform reusability.</li><li>Establish and maintain data ownership models with engineering, analytics, and product teams.</li><li>Partner with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to conduct data governance reviews.</li><li>Coordinate policy awareness, adoption, and updates across teams.</li></ul></li><li>Data Quality Management<ul><li>Implement automated data quality checks across pipelines in partnership with dev teams.</li><li>Monitor and manage key data quality KPIs using commercial or in-house DQ tooling.</li><li>Collaborate with data engineers to manage schema validation, anomaly detection, and alerting.</li><li>Resolve high-impact data issues that affect customer experience or metric integrity.</li></ul></li><li>Governance Tooling &amp; Product Management<ul><li>Serve as product owner for data governance tooling and metadata platforms.</li><li>Define and maintain roadmaps for internal data products related to lineage, cataloging, and governance workflows.</li><li>Partner with engineering to integrate or scale metadata management and discovery solutions.</li></ul></li><li>Cross-Functional Alignment<ul><li>Work closely with engineering, data science, analytics, security, and legal teams to align governance practices.</li><li>Translate data governance needs into clear technical and product requirements.</li><li>Ensure business stakeholders (e.g., product managers, marketing, GTM) have access to trusted, well-documented data.</li></ul></li><li>Metadata &amp; Lineage Management<ul><li>Oversee automated metadata and lineage tracking across data tools (e.g., PBI, Snowflake).</li><li>Provide visibility into upstream/downstream data flows to support compliance and impact analysis.</li></ul></li><li>Regulatory Compliance &amp; Risk<ul><li>Implement controls to ensure compliance with privacy/security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2).</li><li>Collaborate with Legal and Governance teams on data classification, access control, and audit readiness.</li><li>Support and prepare for internal and external data audits.</li></ul></li><li>Culture &amp; Enablement<ul><li>Champion data stewardship best practices across teams and functions.</li><li>Lead data quality and governance education efforts for product and engineering orgs.</li><li>Deliver dashboards, documentation, and scorecards to track data governance progress and adoption.</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3>To be successful in this role you have:<ul><li>Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AIs potential impact on the function or industry</li><li>8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management in a fast-paced tech or SaaS environment. Or a Masters degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience; or PhD with 3 years of experience </li><li>Strong experience working cross-functionally across engineering, analytics, product, and legal teams.</li><li>Proficiency in SQL and Python, with practical experience using Snowflake for data processing and transformation</li><li>Skilled in reporting and dashboard creation using Power BI</li><li>Deep understanding of data governance principles and frameworks</li><li>Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring data quality programs at scale</li><li>Familiarity with metadata tools and modern data platforms (e.g., dbt, Atlan, Monte Carlo, Collibra)</li><li>Working knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2)</li><li>Strong initiative and ownership mindset, with the ability to drive progress independently and proactively</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across a wide range of stakeholders</li></ul>#DTjobsFD21<h3>Additional Information</h3>Work PersonasWe approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.
