If youre ready to drive change and make history, apply now!</div><h4>What you’ll do</h4> Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck &amp; rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: <ul> <li>Lead the development, calibration and validation for electronic drivetrain and chassis control systems including (but not limited to):</li> <li>All Wheel Drive Torque Distribution</li> <li>Brake Torque Vectoring</li> <li>Driver Steering Recommendation</li> <li>Drag Torque Regulation</li> <li>Drive Slip Regulation</li> <li>Fully autonomous hands-on calibration of customer focused chassis control systems to meet the Ride, Steering, Handling, Stability, and Braking performance demands of an emerging electric vehicle market.</li> <li>Define calibration methodologies, best practices and requirement specifications in a new E-architecture from scratch</li> <li>Establish, manage and track functional and performance requirements as a single point of contact independently from Level1 to a final validated version for serial production</li> <li>Carry out in-depth analysis of software documentation and feature set labeling to ensure clarity, accuracy and alignment with product functionality.</li> <li>Analyze and optimize chassis and propulsion feature sets for performance, efficiency and diagnostic functions.</li> <li>Conduct simulation and real-world testing to evaluate the performance of electronic chassis control systems in normal, adverse, and emergency scenarios.</li> <li>Perform in vehicle limit handling on high friction, low friction and off-road driving environments at various test locations and environments.</li> <li>Develop and execute plans to meet program milestones, regulatory requirements, and a successful launch</li> <li>Partner with other concept &amp; systems architect teams to produce solutions to engineering &amp; functional challenges</li> <li>Mentor and guide junior engineers in calibration processes, requirement management and development strategies</li> <li>Represent the company in technical discussions with suppliers and industry partners</li> <li>Expedite the project with new ideas and new projects even outside of the calibration scope</li> <li>Coordinate and collaborate with suppliers on integration and validation plans and activities</li> <li>Support the Chassis Testing &amp; Tuning team, whenever needed with commitment to tasks outside the chassis functionality</li> </ul> Location &amp; Travel Expectations: <ul> <li>This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.</li> <li>The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. </li> <li>Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.</li> <li>Travel: Domestic and international travel required, approximately 30% of the time. Heres what else youll bring:  <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an engineering field of study required</li> <li>8+ years of experience in vehicle concept engineering or serial development, in the work scope of calibration and validation of software functions and calibration tools including ETAS and MATLAB</li> <li>Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C-programming source code</li> <li>Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, driving behavior evaluations, chassis control theory, and electronic control units (ECUs).</li> <li>A passion for vehicle operation and performance, specifically in truck and off-road vehicle development.</li> <li>Mentorship experience for junior engineers and the ability to teach complex content with passion</li> <li>Experience with electric vehicles or hybrid propulsion systems.</li> <li>Proven experience in requirement setting and management for vehicle control functions</li> <li>Experience with ISO26262 and functional safety standards</li> <li>Vehicle limit handling driving abilities in precision and emergency maneuvers documented by standardized licensing testing (SAE, TRC, OEM Specific).</li> <li>Advanced project steering and coordination skills to practice independent project management</li> <li>Knowledge of module and zonal vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with in-vehicle testing on public roads, proving grounds and specialized test tracks.</li> <li>Motivation to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design, creation of new ideas and solutions, and enjoyment of hands-on vehicle testing.</li> <li>Flexibility for domestic and international travel as needed.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills, task ownership, self-motivation, problem solving, innovation creativity and communication skills.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 30% of the time. </li> <li>Valid drivers license required.</li> <li>Passport required</li> </ul> <h4>What youll gain</h4> The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.  This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at its foundation.  In addition, Scout provides competitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
