About the Job

This role serves as a liaison between home office-based departments (Internal Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Government Affairs, Public Affairs and Corporate Communication Teams), field-based colleagues (Strategic Account Managers) and external customers (State Awardees, State Advocacy and State Coalitions) to ensure alignment on and achievement of broader business objectives pertaining to the Sanofi Vaccine Portfolio.  The FAL will serve as the primary coordination interface between State Ecosystems, Sanofi Public Affairs and the Sanofi Government Team.
 

The Vaccines Federal Account Liaison is a field-based role which will serve as one of the points of contact between Sanofi and designated government and community entities ensuring effective communication and delivery of our vaccine products. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships within their customer base.  The FAL will be expected to provide exceptional customer engagement while delivering on company’s aligned growth objectives.  The core responsibility of the role will focus on State Ecosytems (State Awardees, State Coalitions and State Advocacy Groups).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Account Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key government agencies to ensure the successful commercial presence in promotion and distribution of our vaccine products with a core focus on State Awardees, Immunization Coalitions, and state chapters of Professional Organizations through translation of a top down and bottom-up strategy.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Co-create and execute strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines to grow and maintain existing and grow new business.

  • Demonstrate executive presence during key external stakeholder engagements while representing Sanofi brand teams. 

  • Achieve key milestones and business objectives working with peers and colleagues with and without direct authority including close alignment with Public Affairs, Market Access, Government Affairs and Sales.

  • Call on customers with a regular cadence to drive business objectives forward.

  • Develop and utilize a feedback loop both internally and externally to ensure movement on the customer adoption spectrum.

  • Responsible for market intelligence and input to help shape solicitation requirements for federal bids within assigned customer base.

  • Customer Support: Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare providers regarding product availability, usage, and administration guidelines.

  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the Strategic Account Management to identify opportunities for growth and assist in the development of sales strategies and execution plans at the federal and state level.  Be the connective tissue between the federal and state levels focused on Awardee Strategy, Execution and Tactics.

  • Matrix Organization: Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a matrix organization, balancing aligned cross-functional priorities, influencing without direct authority, and driving alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders.  Ability to drive innovation and compliance in a highly regulated industry.  Core focus is on State Awardee Strategy.

  • Training and Education: Co-create and participate in training sessions and educational programs for healthcare providers and internal teams to enhance their knowledge, understanding, and utilization of Sanofi vaccine products.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth.  Remain connected and engaged with federal and state regulations which may impact business.  Keen ability to compliantly uncover competitive intelligence to inform marketing strategies. FAL engagements will aim to gain market insights, uncover collaboration opportunities, and foster productive key opinion leader relationships to advance Sanofi Vaccines.

  • Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on account activities, sales performance, and market insights to the management team.  Regularly track and analyze new business, sales forecasts and pipeline opportunities.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Successfully implement co-solutioning projects with designated complex federal agencies and state awardees. Identify, pursue and capture new business opportunities and collectively grow existing initiatives aligned across the matrix team.  Ability to effectively collaborate with Public Affairs to align on strategic opportunities with state healthcare coalitions and state chapters to execute aligned strategy.

  • Contracting:  Provide expert industry guidance related to customer procurement options and contract vehicles.  Engage with key leadership both internally and externally to expedite key contract considerations, i.e. contracting, leadership and clinical influencers.  Stay informed on federal acquisition regulations, contract vehicles, solicitation requirements and funding cycles to provide critical intelligence to market access.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assemble and lead cross-functional teams towards a shared vision of success achieving measurable progress on integrated projects.  The co-reaction of strategy with a focus on translating top-down strategy to state awardees is a key measure. The FAL role will co-develop cross collaborative account strategies to drive appropriate utilization of vaccines while working to increase vaccination rates across the portfolio.

 

About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Advanced or master’s degree preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills with experience working at or working with HHS or similar Federal/Public Health Agency for a minimum of 5 years.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with coalitions, patient advocacy groups, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization; strong presentation skills required.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills: time management and project management.

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Contracting.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biotech account management, field sales, or healthcare contracting, demonstrating consistent success and leadership.

  • Exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business (e.g., Sales Training, Customer Solutions, Sales Operations, Distribution, and Marketing) is preferred.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills through a collaborative approach, capable of working on complex and abstract problems of diverse scope.

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills including active listening, advising, facilitating, and influencing at all levels and in diverse settings.

  • Highly organized with advanced organization skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional business acumen, strategic agility, strong analytical and conceptual thinking combined with entrepreneurial qualities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and influence peers and educate management regarding account needs.

  • Strong customer-facing skills and demonstrated negotiating capability.

  • Builder with a beginner’s mind, able to combine institutional knowledge with creativity and data for continuous improvement.

  • Strong understanding of managed market dynamics and competitive landscape in the acute care and/or vaccine space is preferred.

Working Conditions & Travel:

  • This role is remote, with travel required as needed, approximately up to 60% to customer sites and for internal meetings.

The salary range for this position is:

$147,000.00 - $212,333.33
