Job Title: Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central
Location: Remote
About the Job
The Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central is mandated to oversee the effective and efficient functioning of individual MSLs in the region.
The Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central main objectives are to;
Coach, train and manage MSL performance and development to ensure excellent execution of their role and of strategic goals.
Oversee that MSLs exhibit robust scientific knowledge.
Support the establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
Facilitate MSL timely, appropriate, balanced, scientific exchanges with key external expert to enhance the understanding of the therapeutic area and medical value of our products.
Aid in the development of strategic and tactical Medical Engagement Plans.
Support the generation and communication of scientific and medical insights to internal stakeholder.
Ensure excellence in execution of all governance processes and manage MSL resources and budgets.

Main Responsibilities:
Team support and development
Regularly spend time witnessing MSL field activities, appropriately diagnosing elements and offering feedback to support improvement of skills to impact performance and professional development.
Monitor MSLs’ execution of plans within their respective territories and with crucial KOLs via regular coaching sessions.
Develop customized training and career development plan for each MSL.
Appropriately prioritize elements of improvement and rank them, considering the needs of the MSL and of the business.
Collaborate with MSL National Director to select appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor MSLs’ progress against KPIs
Manage budget appropriately and ensure fiduciary responsibility is practiced by direct reports
Ensure all MSLs fulfill global and corporate training requirements.
Support the development of an action plan to close “gaps” in current organization either in terms of head count or skill levels and initiatives to help achieve department objectives.
KOL strategy and management
Translate overall priorities into specific goals and expected outcomes for the US region and individual MLs.
Supervise identification and mapping of KOLs for each MSL in their territory to prioritize key territory stakeholders and develop customized engagement plans.
Follow-up on KOL engagement plans.
Aids MSLs in the assessment of KOL needs, priorities, expectations, and feedback.
Ensure strategic and tactical goals are met.
Engage on cross-functional collaboration where appropriate.
Support, attend, and follow up on scientific congresses, symposia, or other events where appropriate.
Communicate scientific and medical information/insights
Develop scientific material such as slide decks, in collaboration with Medical Affairs Directors.
Train or advise internal stakeholders.
Evaluate and summarize feedback on key scientific medical and clinical information and patients behavior (indirectly from physicians) to provide insights of impact for internal functions.
Facilitate communication and organize meetings and events among MSLs and with other functions to promote best demonstrated practices where appropriate.
Organize and conduct trainings as needed.
Travel 60% or greater, including domestic and international travel as needed.
Context of the job/major challenges:
The Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central may need to travel substantially to witness MSL field activities and effectively coach performance as MSLs need to travel substantially given the field-facing nature of the role; there will also be a need to manage individuals and the team remotely given the field-facing nature of these roles.
Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central needs to ensure that the team operates within clear compliance regulations and ensure that the information shared with stakeholders is non-promotional in nature.
Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central may need to address issues, including addressing corporate policy between other topics, which may be controversial or sensitive for KOLs.
Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central have to work closely with Commercial partners while minding regulatory boundaries for non-promotion
Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central are expected to model core company values routinely.
Dimensions/Scope
Manage a base of 8-10 MSLs, including complete oversight of the near term needs (e.g. training, etc.) and long term requirements (e.g. career plan, etc.).
Steer and guide team to plan day-to-day interactions, including discussion points in accordance with Medical Affairs strategy.
Track and monitor agreed KPIs as well as develop and execute remedial plans, as necessary.
Review, Monitor, and analyze data from the field as it relates to feedback from the KOLs on key information concerning our company’s strategy, products, image, or competition.
Accountability on US regional level with reporting to US Medical Franchise Head, Allergy and Pulmonary with cross-geographical communication and best-practice-sharing with other MSL Regional Directors is encouraged.
About You
Education/Requirements:
MD, PharmD, PhD, or other doctoral-level degree preferred and 2 years related pharma/biotech experience.
Candidates with advanced health care degrees and relevant Respiratory clinical experience consisting of at least 5 years in Respiratory clinical environment may be considered.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a complete background check.
Driving a company car in a safe manner to daily meetings and appointments is required.
Responsible for operating the motor vehicle using safe driving practices, knowledge of and compliance with all company policies, and obeying all traffic laws.

Report of MSL performance.
Update progress of MSL objectives.

The salary range for this position is:
$201,000.00 - $290,333.33All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
