This is an exciting and unique opportunity to get deeply involved in envisioning, designing and implementing cutting-edge ML products with a growing team.Role and Responsibilities<ul><li>Build and lead a global world-class ML engineering team recognized across the industry.</li><li>Lead end-to-end feature teams consisting of both ML and non-ML engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality execution of projects and deliver ML-powered advertising solutions with substantial revenue impact.</li><li>Closely work with cross-site cross-functional stakeholders to refine the product strategy, create effective roadmaps, and drive products from ideation to general availability.</li><li>Establish and drive the long-term vision and executable strategies for the ML team.</li><li>Take initiative to research the latest ML technologies, keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and advance the team’s ML capabilities.</li><li>Ideate new ML projects with significant business value and create proof of concepts.</li><li>Introduce and enforce best engineering practices, uphold engineering quality standards, and streamline ML development and deployment processes.</li><li>Work with external partners to introduce new ML features and tools and assess new opportunities.</li><li>Manage performance, career growth and engagement of team members and foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.</li></ul>Skills and Qualifications<ul><li>Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields.</li><li>10+ years of industry experience with a Master’s degree or 7+ years of industry experience with a PhD degree.</li><li>Proven track record of delivering advertising-related ML products with substantial revenue impact.</li><li>Solid theoretical background in ML.</li><li>Deep understanding of scalable ML systems, platforms, models, and methodologies.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all levels.</li><li>Strong technical leadership and organizational abilities.</li><li>Excellent project and people management skills.</li></ul>Preferred Experience Requirements:<ul><li>Experience with performance ads solutions.</li><li>Experience in leading a global team across time zones and cultures.</li><li>Basic knowledge about Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Snowflake.</li><li>Publications in top relevant venues (e.g., TPAMI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD, WWW, AAAI, IJCAI, etc.)</li></ul>CALIFORNIA ONLYSalary Range Pay Transparency: Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Mountain View, CA is expected to be between $280,000 and $300,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
