In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining scalable and reliable applications and infrastructure on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. You will design and implement AI/ML-powered solutions embedded in sales tools to support and optimize sales workflows. Youll be excited by the challenge of building robust and scalable solutions on AWS.</li> <li><strong>You want to be with the best:</strong> At Samsara, youll collaborate with a high-caliber team that fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging you to learn, grow, and perform at your best.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and deploy scalable and highly available applications and services on AWS.</li> <li>Utilize a wide range of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and more.</li> <li>Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.</li> <li>Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or similar tools.</li> <li>Integrate AI/ML-powered solutions in sales tools to support and optimize sales workflows, such as CRM integration, lead scoring, chatbots, recommendation engines, and forecasting models.</li> <li>Build and consume RESTful APIs and other web services.</li> <li>Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.</li> <li>Ensure the security and compliance of AWS environments and applications by implementing best practices.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and non-production AWS environments.</li> <li>Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and best practices.</li> <li>Contribute to the development of technical documentation and best practices.</li> <li><span>Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices</span></li> </ul> <h4><strong>Minimum Requirements for the Role:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 8+ years of software development experience, or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 6+ years of software development experience with a focus on cloud technologies.</li> <li>At least 5 years of full-stack software development experience.</li> <li>Strong understanding of core AWS services and their application in building scalable and resilient systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or React.</li> <li>Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a solid understanding of software development lifecycle processes..</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.</li> <li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li> <li>Experience working with stakeholders for defining and executing project roadmaps.</li> <li>Understanding of security best practices in the cloud.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Ideal Candidate Also Has:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>AWS Certified Developer – Associate or higher certification.</li> <li>Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration services like Amazon ECS or EKS.</li> <li>Experience building and deploying serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API Gateway.</li> <li>Experience in integrating multiple applications using middleware tools such as Zapier, Workato tools etc</li> <li>Experience with database design and management on AWS (RDS, DynamoDB).</li> <li>Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.</li> <li>Experience with agile development methodologies.</li> <li>Experience working with large-scale, distributed systems.</li> </ul><div><div><div><p><strong>Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: </strong>Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.</p> <p>We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.</p></div><div>The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below.
