As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.</div>About the role: As a Senior Software Engineer I on Automation, you’ll work across backend-heavy systems and user-facing surfaces to build scalable infrastructure, develop new orchestration capabilities, and drive the evolution of our automation architecture. The product is in active rollout with high feature velocity, so you’ll have the opportunity to shape how thousands of customers automate their operations — and make Samsara indispensable in the process. GoLang, GraphQL, Typescript, React and ReactNative are some of the components of our technology stack. Node is acceptable; Python/Ruby not preferred due to scale concerns.</li> <li>Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems.</li> <li>A focus on and desire to mentor fellow engineers.</li> <li>An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team.</li> </ul> An ideal candidate also has: <ul> <li>Proficiency in building scalable and maintainable front-end applications using TypeScript and React, or similar component-based JavaScript frameworks.</li> <li>Experience with a public cloud such as AWS.</li> <li>Experience with workflow engines, state machines, or orchestration platforms (e.g. Temporal, Step Functions, Airflow).</li> <li>Contributed heavily to driving significant value to their customers.</li> <li>Curiosity about our customers, and is eager to improve their day-to-day experience.</li> <li>Loves shipping features iteratively with immediate use by customers.</li> <li>A Bachelors or higher in Computer Science or related discipline.</li> </ul><div><div><div>Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.</div><div>The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below.
