As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.</div>About the role: This is a defining opportunity for a Principal Product Manager to serve as the Strategic Owner for Samsaras Reporting Platform—the unified analytics layer that transforms our massive, multi-product data streams into customer value. The Platform Group is the foundation of our Connected Operations Cloud. Within it, the Data &amp; Extensibility team is responsible for the quality, integrity, and massive-scale processing of all data collected from Samsaras 1.4M+ connected devices. You will be the product leader responsible for defining the future of how our global customers analyze their operations across all Samsara product lines (Safety, Telematics, Equipment Monitoring, etc.). The Reporting Platform is highly strategic: your work will directly impact Samsara’s revenue growth by enabling customers to realize the value of their data through native, custom, and AI-enhanced reports and visualizations. This role requires solving complex challenges at the intersection of data governance, platform scalability, and intuitive user experience. You will report to the Senior Director for Data &amp; Extensibility, driving the long-term vision and strategy that underpins all data-driven decision-making for our enterprise customers. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best. </li> </ul> In this role, you will:  <ul> <li>Pioneer the 3-5 year strategic roadmap and architecture for the Reporting Platform, positioning it as a core differentiator and multi-hundred-million dollar platform for the business.</li> <li>Define the strategy for incorporating AI/ML tools into data exploration and visualization, transforming raw data into prescriptive, actionable insights for customers.</li> <li>Influence executive leadership and cross-product teams on critical investment areas, long-term technical debt reduction, and data governance standards.</li> <li>Own the vision for cross-product data analysis, ensuring seamless and high-performance reporting across Telematics, Safety, Equipment Monitoring, and all future product lines.</li> <li>Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic enterprise accounts and build executive-level relationships with top customers, serving as the platforms product evangelist.</li> <li>Drive the definition of the most important customer problems to solve, leveraging data and market needs to build the long-term strategy and work backwards from winning.</li> <li>Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural values as we scale globally.</li> </ul> Minimum requirements for the role: <ul> <li>10+ years of progressive experience, including 7+ years in product management, with a proven track record of operating and delivering complex, multi-year initiatives.</li> <li>Deep expertise in large-scale data platforms, business intelligence (BI) tools, or customer-facing reporting/analytics products.</li> <li>Excellent technical understanding with an ability to grasp and lead strategic discussions on data warehousing, data quality, data integrity, and API design.</li> <li>Exceptional strategic mindset and analytical skills, capable of synthesizing disparate customer insights and market data into a cohesive, high-impact product strategy.</li> <li>Proven track record of delivering outstanding results for customers and the business, managing significant complexity and ambiguity independently.</li> <li>Superior executive communication skills, comfortable and effective presenting and defending complex strategy to customers, executives, and broad internal audiences.</li> </ul> An ideal candidate also has <ul> <li>Experience driving complex technical initiatives involving multiple internal Platform and Product stakeholders.</li> <li>Prior experience working on products involving both external (customer-facing) and internal stakeholders for roadmap planning and development.</li> <li>A prior technical background (e.g., software engineering, data science) or a deep technical education (Bachelors or Masters in a technical field).</li> <li>History of working on highly successful B2B enterprise products.</li> </ul><div>At Samsara, we welcome everyone regardless of their background.
