Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? What You Will DoThe Pratt &amp; Whitney AutoAir (Lansing, MI) site has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Senior Operations Supervisor (M3). The principal duty of this position is to provide supervision, leadership, and support to the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations for the Fan Blade repair cell of the Aftermarket business. The person in this role will continually search for opportunities to enhance the production processes and the product using a variety of problem-solving techniques, effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with technical competency. A successful Cell Leader will motivate, coach, and encourage employees to optimize career development and personal satisfaction. The Cell Leader will also promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all assigned personnel.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce that is performing FAA Safety Sensitive Work (Time &amp; attendance, time off, rewards, vouchering, training, communications, etc.) Demonstrates commitment to the EH&amp;S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.</li><li>Meet business metrics goals as defined for each cell (Cost, Quality, Delivery, EH&amp;S)</li><li>Lead process improvement opportunities to enhance quality, decrease process cycle time and reduce operational costs.</li><li>Implement root-cause corrective actions in a timely manner to ensure quality standards are maintained.</li><li>Meet the schedule, plan and execute contingency plans.</li><li>Commitment to Train and perform Toolbox talks/Coach employees to develop a motivated, effective team.</li><li>Facilitate shift to shift communications, ensuring pass downs are communicated daily.</li></ul> Qualifications You Must Have<ul><li>Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Technical School training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience</li></ul>Qualifications We Prefer<ul><li>Degree in STEM field; Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.</li><li>2+ years of Operations Leadership experience in a manufacturing production environment.</li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP material ordering systems.</li><li>Aftermarket Aerospace Composite and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience</li><li>Airframe and Power Plant (A&amp;P) license.</li><li>Proven track record of leadership and experience working in a union shop.</li><li>Knowledge of Union-Management Collective Bargaining Agreements.</li><li>Outstanding record of overcoming obstacles with limited resources in a dynamic manufacturing environment.</li><li>Experience working directly with Global and Domestic customers.</li><li>Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.</li></ul>What is my Role Type?In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
