Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Effector RF Design Team at Raytheon is seeking a talented Senior Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ.The candidate will be responsible for leading and shaping the design and implementation of antenna, radome, and/or radar cross section (RCS) ranges and/or chambers within the company. The selected candidate will also be expected to lead project teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, enable modernization, and contribute to general innovation. In addition, the candidate will work with government personnel and programs, and define and refine requirements to validate range and chamber compliance. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within the candidate’s areas of expertise.This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.What You Will Do<ul><li>Develop antenna, radome, advanced sensor systems, and/or RCS ranges/chambers</li><li>Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.to define, analyze, simulate, implement, and evaluate requirements for ranges and/or chambers, including relevant test equipment</li><li>Work with chamber/range equipment and service suppliers</li><li>Oversee implementation of new ranges/chambers</li></ul>                                                                                Qualifications You Must Have<ul><li>Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)</li><li>Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience to include any combination of the following:<ul><li>Testing of antennas or radomes in a chamber or test range</li><li>Operation of an antenna, radome, and/or RCS chamber/range</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of antenna and/or sensor measurement theory and range operation</li></ul></li></ul>  Qualifications We Prefer<ul><li>Master of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering</li><li>Significant experience simulating and/or estimating the effects of propagation, reflections, and scattering on an antenna under test (AUT) in an anechoic chamber</li><li>Measurement of hardware for RCS</li><li>Significant experience specifying, building, and validating antenna, radome, and/or RCS ranges/chambers</li><li>Proficiency with Python, MATLAB and/or other high level scientific programming languages</li><li>Proficiency with high performance computing (HPC) environments and schedulers such as SLURM</li><li>Proficiency with modeling &amp; simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and GRASP</li><li>Experience designing and testing conformal antennas</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction</li><li>Demonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plans</li><li>Knowledgeable of management processes, such as Earned Value</li><li>Experience presenting in technical reviews</li><li>Understanding of near-field-to-far-field processing algorithms</li><li>Experience designing datalink, flight termination, telemetry, and/or GPS antenna systems</li><li>Experience being a Cost Account Manager or Integrated Product Team Lead</li></ul>What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
