What You Will Do

Join our team at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) in Goleta, CA, as a Senior Principal, Factory Engineering System Administrator, a vital role in supporting our cutting-edge Engineering, Test, and Manufacturing environments. While this is primarily a remote position, you will have the flexibility to work onsite as needed.

You will take charge of managing our sophisticated production server environment, handling both physical and virtual infrastructures. You will be an integral part of the team, ensuring seamless support for our engineering and factory operations.

We are looking for a candidate with robust experience in managing operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtual environments (VMWARE ESXi). Familiarity with backup technologies (VEEAM, Networker), storage infrastructures (NAS/SAN), and network hardware/software/protocols (CISCO, Forcepoint) will be highly advantageous.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

  • System Administration experience: Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems

  • VMWARE ESXi virtualization administration

  • Network services as related to Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments (e.g., MS Active Directory, NIS, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

  • Experience running and following Change Control in a production environment

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Technical computing/networking problem resolution within Engineering, Test and Manufacturing

  • 2 or more years of Linux/UNIX administration (NIS, NFS, RHEL, etc.)

  • Programming skills (e.g.: PowerShell, Batch, Shell, C++, C#, Perl, Python, HTML, CGI, MATLAB)

  • Automation or CI/CD skills (Jenkins, Ansible, Chef)

  • Active DoD clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance

  • Experience with hardware support and diagnosis

  • Understanding of disaster recovery concepts (system backup, storage management/architecture)

  • Experience with storage hardware support and diagnosis as well as knowledge of NAS and/or SAN

  • Cyber Security foundation with experience

  • Project management skills and experience

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
