Some of the programs our department supports NASAMS (NASAMS | Raytheon) and Air Defense Operations Center (ADOC).The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software design and development, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems.The job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.What You Will Do<ul><li>Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.</li></ul>Specific responsibilities include:<ul><li>Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site multiple times a year.</li><li>Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.</li><li>Work collaboratively with systems and SI&amp;T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.</li><li>Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.</li><li>Work on problems with open ended scope, schedule, and expectations.</li><li>Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.</li><li>Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C/C++ for complex systems and applications.</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring system integration and scalability while utilizing new flows through the software factory.</li><li>Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.</li><li>Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications.</li><li>Design and develop tooling to deploy software to various lab and customer site environments.</li><li>Develop automation pipelines to streamline the integration of upstream software releases and automate configuration management.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.</li><li>Stay current with industry trends and advancements in C/C++ technologies, especially in relation to complex systems and continuous delivery.</li></ul>Qualifications You Must Have<ul><li>Typically requires a Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.</li><li>Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment.</li><li>Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, Java, or Ada.</li><li>Ability to obtain U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.</li></ul>Qualifications We Prefer<ul><li>Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).</li><li>Domain knowledge in Command and Control operations, Link16 tactical communication, HMI usability development, Mission Defense Planning, Simulation Modeling and Analysis and Threat Evaluation/Weapon Assignment processing.</li><li>Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.</li><li>Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts.</li><li>Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.</li><li>Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions.</li><li>Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training.</li><li>Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
