None/Not RequiredJoin our team as a Specialist, Global Trade Technology Management and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of cutting-edge military and avionics technologies across borders. In this highly specialized position, you will leverage your expertise in export and import regulations, specifically ECCN, USML, and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification determination, to support our Global Trade program and technology management initiatives. Youll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, especially in engineering, to drive results and implement policies that keep us in line with global trade laws.

This role will be hybrid, the preferred candidate will be available to work at one of our Collins Aerospace - Avionics locations in Cedar Rapids, IA, Burnsville, MN, Melbourne, FL, Wilson, NC, Wilsonville, OR, Decorah, IA, Manchester, IA, Atlanta, GA, Bellevue, IA, Wichita, KS, Federal Way, WA, Huntsville, AL, Raleigh, NC, Moorestown, NJ, Richardson, TX, Calexico, CA, Or Bothell WA.
What YOU Will Do:
- Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), and HTS.
- Perform JC and HS classifications.
- Support investigations and reviews of possible GT escapes and disclosures.
- Support non-US Global Trade program
- Lead for project management/continuous improvement
What YOU Will Learn:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of U.S. export and import regulations, including the EAR, ITAR, and HTS, as they apply to advanced avionics technologies.
- Gain hands-on experience in performing sophisticated jurisdiction classification (JC) analyses, resolving escalations, and collaborating with customers to ensure compliance with global trade requirements.
- Enhance your investigative skills by supporting reviews of potential Global Trade (GT) escapes, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions that drive process improvements across the business unit.
- Build your leadership capabilities by developing and delivering specialized mentoring on jurisdiction classification and HTS to internal teams, becoming a go-to expert in global trade compliance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Experience with US Export (classification) Regulations; specifically the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR and the United States Munitions List (USML)
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Prior experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or CORE
- BS/MS Engineering or Business Administration
- Engineering and/or technical background
- Aerospace (program/technical) experience
- Experience with classifications under the World Customs Organization (WCO) HTS
- 1 to 2 years working with GT and related export/HTS classification matters
- Experience with Collins/RTX current trade compliance related processes (classifications, authorizations, logging, compliant transfer modes, record keeping, etc.) and Collins specific GT related systems (GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT) is a plus
