As a member of the Power and Controls (P&C) Central Engineering team, you will be a leader in enhancing Engineering performance through application of CORE (Customer Oriented results and Excellence) principles over a broad range of Engineering functions and product lines such as Aircraft Electrification, Engine Controls, Air Management, Power Generation, Emergency Power, and Mechanical Power Conversion. This role can be based in Windsor Locks, CT or Rockford, IL. 

What You Will Do 

  • Establish baseline domain maturity levels and define sub-domain structures. 

  • Create and execute a maturity improvement plan, including turnback and MFA (Market Feedback Analysis) capture and responses. 

  • Continuously assess domain maturity and take action where needed. 

  • Drive CORE culture and engagement in the P&C Engineering organization  

  • Establish and lead the P&C Engineering Corrective Action Board (ECAB). 

  • Develop SIPOCs (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, and Customer diagrams) and perform process maturity assessments. 

  • Drive CORE engagements and lead/support as needed. 

  • Lead CORE Apprentice and Champion certification efforts to meet required levels. 

  • Define CORE metrics, automate data collection, and communicate results. 

  • Engage in CORE Council activities across P&C and Collins Engineering. 

  • Contribute to annual strategic planning.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience 

  • CORE Apprentice or Champion or equivalent/better

  • Demonstrated involvement in driving CORE engagements 

  • Ability to develop and implement plans to improve under-performing areas, with a focus on achieving and sustaining improvement. 

  • Executive communication skills

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
