The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Finance Team:

RTX is looking for a talented Associate Director, Accounting to lead a collaborative team that supports the RTX Corporate Accounting department in its mission to ensure that the Corporate’s financial reporting is accurate, reliable, timely, and efficient. The role can be hybrid or remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the RTX Corporate Accounting team, assist in employees’ ongoing development, and ensure tasks are being assigned efficiently and effectively
  • Review, understand, and explain the results of the quarterly Corporate balance sheet and P&L and present results to senior management
  • Coordinate and oversee the close process between multiple ledgers and provide secondary review of manual journal entries, account reconciliations and other deliverables
  • Serve as a primary liaison to other Corporate finance functions including FP&A, Tax, Treasury Accounting and Holding Company Accounting, Benefits Finance as well as the Enterprise Services Accounting teams
  • Act as primary contact with the external auditors on Corporate Accounting topics involved in the annual integrated financial statement audit and quarterly reviews
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities and escalate as appropriate with recommendations for resolution
  • Lead enterprise-wide process improvements projects and corporate initiatives in accounting, utilizing the CORE framework and tools
  • Support finance transformation efforts and identify opportunities to centralize processes and tasks
  • Support and participate in the ongoing enterprise-wide system implementations (OneStream, SAP S/4HANA)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements 
  • Strong financial expertise including GAAP knowledge, internal controls, financial management leadership, and analytical decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with a track record of developing staff, effective communication at all levels, and successfully implementing process improvements.
  • Highly adaptable and results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities independently, and drive positive organizational change.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • RTX segment accounting experience or aerospace and defense industry experience
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related area
  • Experience with SAP accounting software
  • Experience with data reporting and analytics tools (Tableau, Alteryx, etc.)

  • Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
