This role is focused exclusively on supporting the companys real estate portfolio and requires approximately 20-25 hours per week.<br /> <br /> <strong>Core Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>The attorney will serve as a key legal advisor on all real estate matters, taking the lead on negotiations and documentation.</li><li>Act as lead counsel for all real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and various property matters.</li><li>Draft, negotiate, and review commercial leases, preferably for retail and industrial properties, and manage lease renewals and amendments.</li><li>Develop, review, and negotiate all contracts related to the real estate portfolio.</li><li>Provide timely legal advice and counsel to management on real estate-related legal and business matters, including risk allocation and contract structure.</li><li>Work collaboratively with business teams to ensure legal strategies align with real estate objectives.</li><li>Work closely with RRD’s property management services provider.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>The ideal candidate is an independent, results-focused legal practitioner with deep experience in commercial real estate law.<br /> <br /> <strong>Required Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.</li><li>3–5 years of significant experience working within a law firm or corporate environment, with proven expertise in real estate transactions and lease negotiations.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working effectively with senior leadership, C-suite executives, and external parties.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Competencies and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Legal Expertise:</strong> Proven track record of drafting and negotiating contracts solely related to complex real estate transactions and commercial leases. Must possess a proactive, hands-on style toward managing legal and business risks.</li><li><strong>Business Acumen: </strong>Ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice that aligns with the company’s real estate business strategy.</li><li><strong>Influencing &amp; Communication:</strong> Self-confident, mature, and an adept communicator who can operate with a minimum of direct supervision and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management.</li><li><strong>Cultural Sensitivity: </strong>Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team, prioritizing business objectives and demonstrating an open, collaborative style.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>RRDs current salary range for this role is $70,000 to $110,000 / year. The salary range may be adjusted<br /> based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the<br /> future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and<br /> compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency,<br /> performance, shift and location.
