Here’s the scoop - Summary
As an industry leader with a unique Food Philosophy for Pets, Champion is seeking an experienced Global CMI Innovation and Trends Senior Manager to co-pilot realizing our growth ambition through new product Innovation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in converting trends into business-building opportunities via syndicated and custom research techniques. This is a Global role. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing our global footprint via relevant and differentiated innovations.
The Global CMI Innovation and Trends Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the identification and dissemination of global trends into the organization, inspiring both new products and long-term efficacy research. This role requires an expert in custom research techniques, consumer behavior and relationship management. You will collaborate with global teams to ensure a Pet Lover-relevant and business-building global pipeline.
What a typical day looks like
- Global Innovation Co-Pilot: Act as a strategic partner to the Global Director of Innovation, aligning marketplace trends and Pet Lover jobs to be done with global brand growth goals
- Global Opportunity Strategy: Facilitate trend identification and foster internal inspiration to drive idea generation, gaining inspiration from global regions
- Learning Liaison: Create & nurture partnerships within the Mars Petcare ecosystem to support transversal priorities (e.g. Start of Life, Demand Spaces, etc.) and work to carve out a POV for “expert” brands (non-mainstream)
- Iterative Development Strategy: Design and leverage agile learning tools for global innovation development and validation, creating normative benchmarks for success
- Agency Management: Lead research agency relationships and contract management with key innovation vendors
- Project Management: Manage & oversee the execution of innovation-related research initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard
- Team Culture & Growth Mindset: Foster collaboration to build strong partnerships across internal teams within Champion. Drive a sense of curiosity to promote a creative environment for innovation development.
What youll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Research or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, data analytics or proven demonstration of core principles.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end learning plans, from strategy through execution.
- Excellent project management skills able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, manage cross-time-zone stakeholders, and prioritize impact over activity
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally, respecting cultural nuances
- A balance of creative thinking and strategic insight, with strong attention to detail and the ability to drive insight into an organization.
- Passion for pets and natural curiosity for understanding the pet lover journey
