What is the opportunity?

The Investment Editor is a go-to editorial expert within PH&N Institutional, and is responsible for ensuring that language in client-facing materials is engaging, clear, and concise. The ideal candidate is service oriented, exhibits strong attention to detail, and is interested in learning about capital markets and institutional investing.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Institutional Communications, the Investment Editor is responsible for high-quality content in a variety of client-facing materials. Specifically, the Investment Editor edits quarterly performance and market commentaries for client reports, customizes written content for new business submissions, and will assist with other projects and initiatives as they gain experience in the role.

The ideal candidate is an excellent business communicator with a passion for language, strong editing skills in English, an excellent command of MS Word, training/experience as an editor, and an interest in capital markets. This role can be based in Vancouver or Toronto.

What will you do?

  • Edit quarterly commentaries describing performance of investment funds and capital markets for client reports, ensuring consistency in style and standards

  • Maintain and manage content for other publications and documents

  • Adhere to and update a house style guide

  • Ensure consistency in a database of global investment professional biographies

  • Other editing and writing tasks as you demonstrate experience and interest

What do you need to succeed?

You are enthusiastic and deadline-driven, work well within a team and independently, have keen attention to detail, and thrive in a collegial, fast-paced environment. You would like to work in the office five days per week, with the potential to work one day per week remotely at manager discretion.

Must Have

  • Post-secondary degree plus one or more years of relevant experience

  • Sound judgement in decision making, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to simplify the complex

  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines

  • A willingness to learn about capital markets and investment concepts, possibly supported by relevant industry-related credentials (e.g., Canadian Securities Course, IFIC Investment Funds Course, CFA, etc.)

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word in particular) and Adobe Acrobat

Nice to Have  

  • Cover letter with application demonstrating your strong communication skills

  • Experience working in the Canadian investment industry

  • French language skills

The expected base salary range for the above position is $50,000-80,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.

This position will be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
