They demonstrate that we take our commitments seriously- to our customers, to our partners and to each other.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide services to customers (75%)<ul><li>Works on complex project scope with minimal direction from with Customer/SI nominated representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.</li><li>Contributes to design for specific deliverables and assists in the deployment Rocket products</li><li>Contribute to implement new solutions under the direction of Delivery Architects</li><li>Create proof of concept / proof of value technology analysis and pilots.</li><li>Conduct external and internal technical presentations/trainings to peer groups.</li><li>Uses and contributes to technical forums within the Rocket AMC environment and local professional communities and technical user groups.</li><li>Applies own subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common technical issues.</li><li>Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action</li><li>Participates as part of a team and maintains good relationships with team members and customers.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Leadership (25%)<ul><li>Ultimately accountable for technical solution implementation for project.</li><li>Leads a team and communicates project status and risks to all project stakeholders on behalf of the team.</li><li>Use technical experience to give customer sound technical advice.</li><li>Responsible for knowing the Architecture, versions, and requirements.</li><li>Responsible for determining appropriate technical resource requirements for project completion. Works with PM to request resources.</li></ul></li></ul><h2></h2>What it takes to excel:<ul><li>Expected Qualification and Soft Skills<ul><li>5-7 years of relevant technical experience</li><li>Excellent communication / customer service skills / confident telephone manner</li><li>Proactive and able to work under pressure</li><li>Experience in complex IT project implementations, customizations and or maintenance</li><li>Must have an analytical mind set to analyse test result and facilitate defect resolution</li><li>Organized and methodical, dealing with numerous tasks.</li><li>Fluent in written and verbal English and Italian.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Requested Technical skills (technical skills to include two or more of the following):<ul><li>IBM Enterprise COBOL or PLI programming experience</li><li>System level experience of IBM CICS;  IMS and JCL</li><li>Relational databases, such as IBM DB2/UDB, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server; PostgreSQL</li><li>Windows operating system</li><li>Linux/UNIX operating system</li><li>Knowledge of major Cloud Provider infrastructure and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker / Kubernetes.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Desired Project Experience<ul><li>A practical experience of mainframe application modernization project is highly desirable. For example:  </li><li>Experience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platforming.</li><li>Experience with COBOL modernization and porting application code across platforms.</li><li>Familiarity with agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, and Test Data Management, etc.</li><li>Experience developing, deploying, and tuning data modernization solution for mainframe such as IMS/DB, IDMS, ADABAS and VSAM data migration</li><li>Experience with implementing and operating DevOps and Agile tools/platforms across some part of the development lifecycle</li><li>Experience configuring automation pipelines in GitHub, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins or similar tools.</li></ul></li><li>Other Preferred Skills<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field</li><li>Rocket COBOL based products – Enterprise Developer, Visual COBOL, Enterprise Server, Server Express, Net Express</li><li>Any additional mainframe language or environment, such as REXX; Assembler; Natural; Adabas; …</li><li>Relevant Business and IT Architecture Certifications such as, AWS Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft AZURE Solution Architect, Google Cloud Certification; Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) etc.</li><li>Proficient in another EU language.</li></ul></li></ul>#LI-Remote.Rocket Software Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
