Description: The Site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager will be responsible for partnering with the site operations team in the Dream Fulfillment Center (DFC) to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our associates. A successful Site Safety Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The Site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in RTR safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety and environmental standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the safety landscape. The Site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager will possess excellent safety program knowledge as well as environmental and ergonomic knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage Safety and Environmental due diligence activities applicable in New Jersey including compliance with OSHA regulations, waste management, Community Right to Know Reporting, wastewater discharge management and reporting, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, wetlands/water permitting. </li> <li>Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the process of doing daily, weekly, and monthly audits.</li> <li>Lead incident investigation process.</li> <li>Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to Management, including ergonomic considerations, in all such efforts.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with all RTR Safety Program expectations and applicable federal and state law.  </li> <li>Maintain required paperwork to comply with RTR’s standards.</li> <li>Facilitate access to immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance or medical attention.</li> <li>Deliver on-time and quality projects to operations.</li> <li>Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams. </li> <li>Document safety incident information in RTR’s OSHA 300 log and 300a in a timely manner.</li> <li>Perform safety observations and audits.</li> <li>Train and assist the operations staff to comply with RTR’s safety responsibilities.</li> <li>Perform specific safety training as required by the company.</li> <li>Conduct documented Monthly facility inspections and document findings.</li> <li>Partner with the security team to ensure that the security team is aware of RTR’s safety policies. </li> <li>Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.</li> <li>Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required safety training.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li>3+ years experience in environmental due diligence and permitting effort programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.</li> <li>Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, planning, or other related field.</li> <li>Knowledge of Title V,  air permitting and compliance and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA.</li> <li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable in RTR’s industry.</li> <li>Must be flexible regarding shifts as safety incidents can happen at any time.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.</li> <li>Enforce safety guidelines, cleanliness and security standards.</li> <li>Ability to quickly recognize, diagnose and solve challenges for associates in partnership with leadership.</li> <li>Must operate with a sense of urgency and have attention to detail. </li> <li>Align with the companys core values to ensure a world class customer experience.</li> <li>Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs based on the needs of the role.</li> <li>Distribution Center or Manufacturing Safety experience at a site of at least 500 non exempt employees is a plus.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders.</li> <li>Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.</li> <li>Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple sites/remotely. </li> </ul> Benefits: At Rent the Runway, we’re committed to the happiness and wellbeing of our employees, and aim to create a workplace that fosters both personal and professional growth.
