<div><span>Role</span></div><div>Regrello is on a mission to redefine enterprise software, and we’re looking for a <b>Principal Software Engineer, Backend Systems</b> to help push the boundaries of what’s possible. If you love <b>designing and scaling complex backend systems</b>, have shipped <b>major projects</b> or <b>entire products</b>, and can think fluently about <b>distributed systems</b>, <b>data modeling</b>, <b>API design</b>, and <b>integrations</b>, this role is for you. You’ll architect and scale our <b>Go/Postgres/Redis/GraphQL</b> backend, working alongside world-class engineers and product minds to drive high-impact projects, lead critical design discussions, and collaborate directly with customers to shape a platform that’s transforming supply chain, manufacturing, and beyond. We are willing to sponsor US work authorization if needed.</div><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>M.S. in Computer Science or a related field (B.S. in Computer Science or a related field will be considered with substantial relevant experience)</li><li>5+ years of industry experience as a backend software engineer, with a focus on large-scale, user-facing web applications in companies like Slack, Uber, or similar</li><li>Proven experience in the architecture and design of large data systems, particularly for software as a service (SaaS)</li><li>Extensive experience in database systems development, data modeling, distributed systems and building robust application backends</li><li>Fluency with databases, APIs and modern backend technologies (experience with Go and GraphQL is strongly preferred, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies as needed)</li><li>A builders spirit (you have a track record of building projects for fun, staying updated with open-source developments, etc.)</li><li>Ability to lead projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional growth and for mentoring peers to help them grow as engineers</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Architect, design and develop scalable and robust backend systems for large data software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Product Management and industry experts to build high-quality product features.</li><li>Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and expertise in backend development, database systems and distributed systems.</li><li>Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating new developments into the backend architecture and processes where appropriate.</li><li>Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and decision-making processes to maintain high standards of code quality and best practices.</li><li>Drive the adoption of best practices in backend development, data modeling and API design, ensuring the scalability and maintainability of the system.</li><li>Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging and leading initiatives to explore new technologies and improve existing systems.</li></ul><div>If this sounds exciting, please apply and well get back to you promptly if we see a fit!</div>
