<div>As a Backend Software Engineer at Regard, you’ll be involved in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: participate in idea generation, planning, design, prototyping, execution, deployment, and iteration of new and existing features. We want you to join us.</div><h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with product and design team members to best design medium to large projects balancing speed to market, user experience, business goals, and technical architecture quality</li><li>Operate independently in building new features and capabilities with support from senior engineers</li><li>Maintain and improve the quality of the codebase and tooling in your area of responsibility by proactive fixes and improvements and through identifying and proposing projects to improve the overall backend codebase</li><li>Participate in operational activities supporting including on-call, monitoring, and production support</li><li>Contribute as necessary across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS, etc) </li></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience</li><li>2+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python preferred)</li><li>Able to participate in on-call operational support for their areas of responsibility</li><li>Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks</li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Experience with k8s, AWS services (serverless, etc), OpenAI services</li><li>Experience working on a mature enterprise SaaS technology product</li><li>Exposure to startup and/or high growth environments or experience working on an enterprise SaaS technology product</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li></ul><h3>Hybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization</h3><ul><li>For this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metro area</li><li>We expect our Engineers to be in the office 1-2 days per week.
