About the JobThe Red Hat Telco Engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Telco Verification team. In this role, you’ll help improve the quality and reliability of the Red Hat OpenShift platform for telecommunications, with a focus on validation of platform features for RAN and Core networks. You’ll collaborate closely with a talented, globally distributed engineering team, developing automated tests, frameworks, and tools to ensure OpenShift is deployment-ready for telecom workloads.What You Will Do<ul><li>Develop and execute automated tests and validation tools for Red Hat OpenShift in telecommunication environments</li><li>Design test plans, extend automation frameworks, and build tools to validate new features</li><li>Validate performance and functionality of OpenShift with RAN and Core network solutions in collaboration with telco partners</li><li>Execute automated test pipelines, report results, and deliver clear status updates</li><li>Perform failure analysis, document and advocate for bug fixes, and coordinate with developers and QE teams for resolution</li><li>Build and maintain automation frameworks, CI pipelines, and validation scripts in Golang and Python</li><li>Contribute to validation planning and product planning processes</li><li>Develop tools for telecom network performance measurement (KPIs)</li><li>Explore emerging AI-assisted development technologies and integrate them into workflows for faster, higher-quality outcomes</li><li>Mentor and support other engineers within the team  </li></ul>What You Will Bring<ul><li>3+ years of professional experience in software development and automated testing</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Strong programming skills in Golang, Python, and Shell scripting</li><li>Experience with test automation development and working with globally distributed QE teams</li><li>Knowledge of Linux (any distribution) and container technologies</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or Prow)</li><li>Understanding of the software development life cycle</li><li>Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn new technologies</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team</li><li>Proactively leverage AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to enhance productivity and code quality  </li></ul>The Following Are Considered a Plus<ul><li>Experience with Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of performance validation in Kubernetes environments</li><li>Understanding of telecommunication network testing, especially RAN and Core</li><li>Contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples</li></ul>#LI-HM1The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
