About the JobThe Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer in Durham, NC. Applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.What You Will Do<ul><li>Develop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.</li><li>Build, maintain, and improve web applications using Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).</li><li>Collaborate with technical leads and business stakeholders to understand requirements and break them into actionable work items.</li><li>Contribute to all aspects of product delivery, including design/architecture, development, testing, documentation, and deployment.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance to peers.  </li></ul>What You Will Bring<ul><li>3+ years of professional software engineering experience</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Passion for learning new technologies and building elegant software systems.</li><li>Experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).</li><li>Python proficiency required; Golang experience a plus.</li><li>Hands-on experience with container management platforms and development environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker/Docker Compose.</li><li>Experience with testing methodologies such as manual testing, automated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)</li><li>Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools, e.g., GitHub, Jenkins.</li><li>Understanding of agile/scrum processes and SDLC best practices.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and coordination skills, including the ability to assist others in resolving complex issues.</li><li>Excellent written and spoken English skills.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration within the software development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and innovation in engineering practices; share use cases for successful experiments with stakeholders for broader use.  </li></ul>The Following Are Considered a Plus<ul><li>Writing Ansible playbooks and administering the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.</li><li>Experience with metrics and observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, DataDog).</li><li>Cloud-native development or administration experience.</li><li>Previous experience on globally distributed or remote teams.</li><li>Experience working on large-scale projects and contributing to open-source communities.</li><li>Cloud platform experience is a plus: AWS, Azure, or VMware.</li></ul>#LI-EK1The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
