Business Operations Analyst - Cloud FinOps Remote India

About the Job:

Red Hat IT is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Operations Analyst - Cloud FinOps who can provide insights (both financial and operational) to our brokered public cloud offering used by internal application teams.  In this role, you will work closely with the IT Public cloud team, cross-functional teams, including Cloud Engineering, Finance, and IT Operations, to analyze cloud costs, optimize usage, and support financial decision-making in a dynamic cloud environment. We currently operate primarily in AWS, GCP, Azure, and IBMC cloud platforms.


 

What will you do?

  • Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on cloud spend across multiple public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives for cloud services.

  • Work with engineering and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms.

  • Identify inefficiencies in cloud resource utilization and provide recommendations for cost savings.

  • Assist in automating cost reporting and financial analysis using cloud-native tools and FinOps platforms.

  • Research and stay up-to-date with cloud pricing models, discounts (e.g., reserved instances, savings plans), and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support FinOps governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with cloud financial policies and best practices.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive cost transparency and educate teams on cloud cost optimziations

  • Introduction into PO Management, Invoice Payment, and manage Cloud Provider Billing

  • Willing to learn and expand the role based on new program goals


 

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Basic experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer).

  • Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data analysis.

  • Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and IT cost management principles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience creating enterprise dashboards, reporting tools, and alerting mechanisms is a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in Public Cloud management, FinOps, and cloud cost management.

  • Knowledge of public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud) is a plus.
