The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a team focused on supporting the maintenance and development of components within the Ansible Automation Platform ecosystem. This empowers our associates to focus on higher-impact work, creating smart, more innovative solutions that solve our customers most pressing challenges.What you will do:<ul><li>Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of production-grade software deployed at scale</li><li>Assist in the implementation of Red Hat strategy for mission-critical automation</li><li>Support Red Hat Automation Platform in maintaining its de-facto industry standard automation platform reference</li><li>Help solve problems in the network and infrastructure space</li><li>Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies relevant to software development, proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate new AI capabilities into existing workflows and tooling.</li></ul>What you will bring:<ul><li>Passion for automation and an excitement to automate all the things</li><li>Knowledge of Linux, system administration, shell scripting, and source control system fundamentals</li><li>2+ years experience with a modern programming language, such as Golang - work experience or internship experience.</li><li>Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cloud providers, and REST API principles</li><li>Understanding of infrastructure systems and networks</li></ul>Experience With The Following Is Considered a Plus<ul><li>Experience with Hashicorp Terraform, including the use of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning</li><li>Familiarity with Terraform provider development, or a strong interest in learning</li><li>Proven track record of delivering features in a Go or Python environment</li><li>Experience integrating with third-party providers, leveraging APIs and implementation of abstraction layers</li><li>Experience with public Cloud providers</li><li>Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including administration and management</li><li>Familiarity with Ansible and its ecosystem catalog</li><li>Experience with open-source project contributions</li><li>Previous experience with Agile Software Development from story discovery through to implementation, testing, and deployment.</li></ul>The salary range for this position is $75,320.00 - $120,480.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
