The service has grown to become the number one online travel company in Japan, and continues to grow as it provides more travel experiences to travelers around the world.

Department Overview:
Rakuten Travel, Japans largest online travel agency, aims to enrich peoples lives through travel. To this end, the mission of the Marketing Department is to communicate the value of Rakuten Travels services to domestic and international travelers through the most appropriate means of marketing approach and to increase the number of Rakuten Travel fans. Our goal is to turn Japanese travelers as well as travelers from all over the world into Rakuten Travel fans.

Why We Hire

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Performance Marketer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Google Search and Display channels and a proven track record of driving growth and increasing revenue.

Position Details

- Develop and execute Google search ads and Display campaigns to drive growth for hotels and ryokans in Japan and elsewhere as our product scope expands

- Conduct keyword research, create ad copy and optimize campaigns to improve performance

- Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and growth

- Manage budgets and bids to maximize ROI

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns align with overall business objectives

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Work Environment

Marketing Department: Around 70 members

Global Marketing Group: 8 - 9 members

Global Marketing Group - Traffic Acquisition Team: 4 -5 members

We are a tightknit group of individuals from various cultural backgrounds, ranging in age from 20s to 40s. Our main language of communication is English, though Japanese is also necessary for certain communications, especially with external stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 2+ years of performance marketing experience, particularly in Google search ads

- A team player with cross-cultural communication skills who can clearly articulate their ideas and suggestions

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in executing campaigns for other marketing channels such as Facebook, Criteo, or metasearch

- Experience in writing and using SQL to extract data

- Familiarity with data analytics-related tools and platforms commonly used among Rakuten Group services, such as RAT and Tableau

- Proficiency in a third language, especially Mandarin, Cantonese, or Korean

- A passion for travel and a desire to work in a multicultural environment
