Department Overview

Our mission is to build the growth foundation for Rakuten Groups global businesses. management and governance enhancement of existing overseas business portfolios, support for groups key strategic businesses, and new business development. As it is a department directly under the vice president, you can work closely with the management team.

Depending on your abilities, you will be responsible for any of the following duties. We actively provide training such as OJT, and new graduates and young talents are also playing an active role.

Examples

Management and governance enhancement of existing overseas business portfolios
- Planning of overseas business strategies/regional strategies, strategic discussions/implementation support with the management of overseas business entities

- Support for growth of overseas businesses (PJ, M&A, PMI support)

- Policy design for overseas business governance

- Support for operations of overseas business (support for obtaining approvals, operation support for important management meetings)

Support for key strategic businesses for the group

- Hands-on support for key strategic businesses that affect the overall group strategy

- identification of management issues in key strategic businesses, planning and execution support for measures (mainly project management)

- Proposal to management on organizational design/system design after PMO

New business development

- Exploration of new areas and markets based on the existing group assets

- New businesses development to create core businesses for the Group, including M&A and alliances.　

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in any of the following tasks as a member (experience within Japan is acceptable).

└ Management and support of overseas subsidiaries, business planning, project planning, business process improvement. consulting

- Business-level English proficiency

Desired Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience working as an expatriate overseas
