We’re a team that values creativity, collaboration, and customer obsession—and we’re looking for a Principal Solution Engineer with strong pre-sales experience to join us.What You’ll DoAs a Principal Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales), you’ll be the technical and strategic partner to our sales team—helping prospects understand the business value of our solutions. You’ll work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to craft compelling solution architectures that address real-world challenges in field service.<ul><li>Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, focusing on value-based selling</li><li>Lead discovery sessions to understand customer pain points and translate them into tailored solutions</li><li>Deliver engaging product demonstrations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to align solutions with customer needs</li><li>Support strategic initiatives and C-level engagements with a focus on business outcomes</li></ul> Preferred Skills/Experience:<ul><li>5–7+ years of experience in software pre-sales, solution consulting, or value engineering</li><li>Significant expertise in developing and selling cloud-based solutions. Including creating and executing propositions and a track record of success</li><li>Good understanding of cloud-based solutions with proven experience in selling Software as Service (SaaS) applications</li><li>Strong presentation skills</li><li>Experience with the salesforce.com platform</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, including creativity and curiosity, with ability to effectively communicate and influence solution direction to both technical and non-technical audiences alike across all organizational levels</li><li>Technical acumen to interface with technologists, understand complex concepts and translate in a way that businesses or industries can understand</li><li>Demonstrated problem-solving and creative skills, ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on market and customer trends – go beyond the status quo</li><li>Ability to deal with ambiguity, strategic agility, manage diversity and drive for results</li><li>Strong English speaking and writing abilities</li><li>Ideally on Eastern Time Zone (EST)</li><li>Finally, one of the most critical aspects of this role – is being able to help understand the VALUE of what you are selling and articulate this for prospects and customers in a way they easily understand</li></ul> Required Skills/Experience:<ul><li>Bachelors Degree in business, science, engineering, technology, or related discipline</li><li>Strong work experience with at least 5 to 7 years in Software pre-sales</li><li>Must be willing to travel 20%-40%</li></ul> PTC carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, which include a candidate’s background and experience, in determining salary for a position. Compensation will vary based on these factors, but PTC anticipates the salary range for this position to be between $109,300 – $164,000. The actual pay may be lower or higher depending on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location and may also include the opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus. Additionally, every PTC employee has the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program which allows employees to purchase discounted PTC stock and, for eligible roles, an equity grant.
