We are looking for a creative, diligent, hands-on Software Engineering Manager in Test who will be responsible for leading quality engineering (QE) teams. These teams will research and build the next generation of PlayStations testing technology, and, as their leader, you will set this future technologys direction.</p> <p>Join us, and coordinate with our internal software development teams who are building the core tech behind the console games of tomorrow. This involves analyzing the quality of at least two of the following: (1) PlayStation CPU compilers and tools that are part of the open-source LLVM compiler infrastructure. (2) Real-world audio and video codecs used throughout the PlayStation system software. (3) PlayStation’s 3D Audio technology and greater audio ecosystem used in the PlayStation software development kit (SDK) and system software. If this sounds exciting, please apply!</p> <h2>Responsibilities:</h2> <ul> <li>Lead a diverse team of our Software Engineers in Test. Own everything from hiring to mentoring, work planning, career growth and performance management.</li> <li>Support these QE teams in their efforts to maintain and improve tools and infrastructure to build and test PlayStation sample applications.</li> <li>Research and craft new tools for overcoming inefficient processes by automating work.</li> <li>Coordinate construction of testing plans, samples, and documentation together with our global software production, documentation, and remote offshore engineering teams.</li> </ul> <h2>Technical Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Proficient in Python programming. (Multiple industry projects completed.)</li> <li>Enough C++ experience to provide guidance to junior engineers in code review.</li> <li>A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, and applying proven software methodologies to testing and driving reductions in technical debt.</li> <li>Experience with software engineering practices, and exposure to software automation and testing systems (for example, Jenkins).</li> <li>The following are very nice to have (but not required): Past experience with cloud computing and containerization (Docker), or game development.</li> </ul> <h2>Skills and Characteristics</h2> <ul> <li>Effective leading medium size Agile teams in quality and testing engineering domains.
