This role is critical to accelerating plancraft’s AI journey. You’ll work at the intersection of infrastructure, developer experience, and AI enablement – helping scale internal productivity and external product potential.
As part of this, you’ll be joining our newly formed AI squad, focused exclusively on advancing our product capabilities in AI infrastructure and enablement. This team is being built from scratch with a dedicated Tech Lead already in place, and youll be among its first members helping define its ways of working and technical direction. Together with your squad you make sure plancraft e.g. gets a fully-integrated, global, AI-Ready search - and grow plancrafts competency in building up AI Infrastructure / Solutions.
As we are currently building the squad we are looking for talents from junior to senior level so the exact role scope & level will vary based on your background and growth aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Scope, plan, and implement cloud and AI infrastructure projects
- Build and enhance clear, resilient infrastructure (including documentation and training)
- Mentor and coach engineers – both within your team and across the organization
- Consult and engage with internal stakeholders with a focus on Modern Tech Stack and AI / Infra
- Advocate for and drive the adoption of AI internally and within our product
- Comfortable with Mentoring / Teaching / Advocating for a wide set of Technologies
- Cloud Experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IaC (e.g. Tofu, Terraform)
- Strong Software Engineering Background (Typescript is necessary, other languages might be a plus (Python))
- AI Expertise / Overview (Vector Search, Multimodality, Embedding, Reranking, MCP, Agents)
- Enthusiasm for “modern Development” - AI enhanced engineering
- Comfortable with communication and ownership towards Business & Tech stakeholders
- Hamburg-based or willingness to relocate with interest to come to the office 2-3 days / week
- Fluent in English (C1/C2)

- Experience with SaaS / B2B products
- Experience with DBT, Firebase, or complex GCP services
- Experience in Product Ownership / Project Management
