This includes ensuring income and indirect compliance with federal, state, local and international tax regulations, managing indirect tax accruals such as sales and use tax, property tax, and other non-income tax matters. We also handle the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, manage the quarterly tax provision process (including FIN18 provisions), and handle estimated tax filings and payments.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>In this role, you will focus specifically on Plaid’s US and worldwide indirect tax matters. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and be a proactive problem solver who wants to contribute to the success of the company.  You will strive to be an integral part of a growing, multi-national company, will learn and grow constantly, and be supported in all steps of the process by the team and leadership. This position reports to the Tax Lead.</span></div><h3>Responsiblities</h3><ul><li> Manage U.S. and EU indirect tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments.</li><li>Prepare monthly account reconciliations for sales &amp; use tax and other non-income tax accounts to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Assist on indirect tax audits and reviews through data collection and research support.</li><li>Provide indirect tax support, including customer invoice and contract inquiries, exemption certificate reviews, and tax determination in accordance with applicable tax regulations.</li><li>Maintain Plaid’s ASC 450 positions and reserves, including the documentation and calculations</li><li>Monitor tax changes and legislative tax updates. </li><li>Perform research and analysis, and apply tax laws to support technical positions related to the Company’s business transactions and clearly communicate and document findings.</li><li>Support the tax technology roadmap, including assistance with testing, ensuring our tax engine is configured properly, and developing reporting requirements.</li><li>Partner with cross functional teams throughout the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered and communicated.</li><li>Collaborate on the development of internal controls and tax automation processes to streamline tax return preparation and ensure efficient operations.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li> 6+ years proven experience with both US and international indirect tax technical background with a detailed understanding of the application of sales tax principles to technology businesses.</li><li>Demonstrated experience to cultivate cross-functional relationships and communicate complicated tax technical matters to all levels and business functions.</li><li>Proven project management and organizational skills with the experience to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast paced, high pressure environment.</li><li>An ability to balance individual ownership and accountability with collaboration and partnership.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of ASC 450.</li><li>Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including ability to articulate complex tax topics to non-tax business partners.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.</li><li>Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google suite products.</li><li>Combined Big 4 or law firm and technology industry experience is preferred.</li><li>S&amp;U tax software experience (such as Avalara, Fonoa, Anrok, etc.).</li></ul><div><span>Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone.
