It’s Possible.</p></div><p>The ML Platform team provides foundational tools and infrastructure used by hundreds of ML engineers across Pinterest, including recommendations, ads, visual search, growth/notifications, trust and safety. We aim to ensure that ML systems are efficient, healthy (production-grade quality) and fast (for modelers to iterate upon).</p> <p>Pinterest is seeking an engineering manager to lead our <strong>ML Automation &amp; User Experience team</strong>. This team is transforming how machine learning gets done at Pinterest by removing friction, connecting every stage of the ML lifecycle, and building automated, intuitive tools that enable practitioners to focus on solving real problems. As the front door to our ML platform, youll drive innovation that impacts all ML initiatives at Pinterest. Were looking for someone passionate about ML platforms who can build and mentor a team while delivering user-centric solutions that enhance practitioner effectiveness company-wide.</p> <p><strong><br />What youll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and coach an engineering team building seamless, automated tools that connect every stage of the ML lifecycle</li> <li>Drive vision and innovation for ambitious projects such as:</li> <ul> <li>Our central portal that unifies all ML platform services and tools into a cohesive ecosystem</li> <li>Solutions for tracking, versioning, and governing ML models throughout their complete lifecycle</li> <li>A system enabling feature producers to easily iterate on features across multiple ranking surfaces like Homefeed, ads, and more</li> </ul> <li>Collaborate deeply with ML practitioners across Pinterest to identify pain points and co-create solutions that address real workflow challenges</li> <li>Partner closely with Product Management to align technical capabilities with user needs and business objectives</li> <li>Foster a culture of user research and continuous feedback loops to refine and improve platform experiences</li> <li>Develop clear and comprehensive technical strategies for platform components that balance innovation with practicality</li> <li>Influence decisions and identify the best path forward through vision, prioritization, and technical leadership</li> <li>Grow and build the team by identifying and recruiting talented engineers at all levels</li> </ul> <p><strong><br />What were looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Five or more years of experience in ML engineering, platform development, or infrastructure roles</li> <li>Industry experience in leading teams dedicated to developing ML platforms, developer tools, or automation systems</li> <li>Exceptional collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work across engineering teams and with product managers</li> <li>Deep empathy for ML practitioners and their workflow challenges, with experience translating user insights into technical solutions</li> <li>A thought leader focused on efficiency, user experience, and delivering on expectations</li> <li>Proven track record of improving ML workflows in a fast-moving environment</li> <li>Strong product sense and commitment to user experience design principles</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>BS+ degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science OR equivalent experience</li> </ul> <p><strong><br />In-Office Requirement Statement:</strong></p> <ul> <li>We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style.
