ABOUT THE ROLE   The Procurement Engineer drives strategic cost management for select Peloton products and accessories, ensuring adherence to target costs throughout their lifecycles using a bottoms-up approach. Key responsibilities include managing the total cost of ownership (TCO), optimizing the supply chain network, and supporting product development through SPOR and dual-sourcing initiatives. Additional duties encompass complexity reduction, component phase-in/phase-out planning, and end-to-end supplier process improvements. The role also involves capital expenditure (CapEx) budget oversight and statement of work (SOW) management.   YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON <ul> <li> Enhance product cost competitiveness throughout the product lifecycle by optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO). </li> <li> Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams on value engineering, including: <ul> <li> Competitive teardowns and reverse engineering. </li> <li> Should-cost and clean-sheet cost modeling. </li> <li> Concept scoping and feature tradeoff analysis </li> </ul> </li> <li> Ensure product cost efficiency, supply chain scalability, and flexibility by: <ul> <li> Providing feature-value tradeoff recommendations. </li> <li> Optimizing TCO across components and products. </li> <li> Conducting value-stream mapping to reduce supply chain lead times, costs, and enhance network flexibility. </li> </ul> </li> <li> Supports the development of value engineering, cost engineering, and DfX certification programs to educate &amp; train product development personnel with Peloton to develop &amp; sustain products from a total cost of ownership (TCO) perspective. </li> <li> Oversee cost engineering activities to align bottoms-up cost estimates with target product costs, maximizing TCO. </li> <li> Manage the Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR), ensuring components are sourced on time, within budget, and to specifications through commodity management and JDM/ODM partnerships. </li> <li> Control capital expenditure (CapEx) during New Product Introduction (NPI) to achieve cost-competitive outcomes. </li> <li> Conduct Bill of Materials (BOM) risk assessments, identifying needs for alternate sourcing and mitigating supply chain risks. </li> <li> Support complexity reduction through SKU rationalization, component commonality, and supplier consolidation. </li> <li> Negotiate supplier contracts to secure favorable pricing, terms, and process improvements. </li> </ul>   YOU BRING TO PELOTON <ul> <li> Minimum of 8 years of total professional experience, with at least 5 years in advanced sourcing activities, preferably as a commodity or sourcing manager. </li> <li> Proven expertise in product-based value engineering, cost engineering, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis at both component and product levels. </li> <li> Experience in the ODM/OEM manufacturing industry is preferred. </li> <li> Background in designing and developing electronics or mechanical devices is a plus. </li> <li> Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or other related technical degree.
