This role presents a rare opportunity to build a critical function from the ground up at a mission-driven company on the cutting edge of wearable technology and human health. Youll be instrumental in shaping the future of our product portfolio by establishing and leading our product business planning function – encompassing comprehensive product and portfolio-level pricing strategies, robust demand forecasting, and rigorous business case development.Success requires an individual to think strategically, connecting the dots of the bigger picture, as well as being comfortable in the details of key deliverables. You must be self-motivated, comfortable working in a global, fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. <h3></h3>What You’ll Do<ul> <li>Architect and Lead Product Business Planning: Define and implement robust processes for product and portfolio-level pricing strategies, demand forecasting methodologies, and comprehensive business case development that drive profitable growth.</li> <li>Develop and Refine Pricing Models: Conduct sophisticated financial modeling to assess price elasticity leveraging market analysis, competitive benchmarking and primary research. Conduct pricing analyses to inform pricing strategy for new and upsell/cross-sell offerings. Strategically optimize product pricing for maximum profitability and market share, particularly during early stages of product development and introduction. </li> <li>Forecast and analyze product demand and performance: Pioneer and implement advanced methodologies for accurate GTM demand forecasting, including volume targets, scenario planning and risk mitigation. Track and analyze global product performance, encompassing revenue, unit sales, attach rates, and customer adoption. Prepare monthly reviews with senior leadership, distilling complex data into actionable insights.</li> <li>Drive cross-functional alignment: Work closely with Product, FP&amp;A, Supply and PMO teams to integrate business plans with financial forecasts, product roadmaps and operational execution plans.</li> <li>Shape product &amp; business strategy: Serve as a critical thought partner to product leads, actively influencing both short- and long-term strategies and roadmaps for hardware and software products. Help define success metrics and provide strategic support during product concept, development, and go-to-market phases , and deliver market and competitive insights to inform pricing decisions.</li> <li>Drive Operational Excellence &amp; Scalability: Proactively identify and champion process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce friction, and enable the Business Management function to scale effectively and sustainably. </li> </ul>We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.We would love to have you on our team if you have:<ul> <li>10+ years of experience in a strategic, analytical, or cross-functional business role (e.g., Product Strategy, Business Operations, Product Finance or Program Management), ideally supporting product.</li> <li>Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis, and cost management principles, with a track record of applying these to complex product portfolios and influencing executive-level decisions.</li> <li>Advanced analytical skills with hands-on experience in pricing strategy, modeling, demand forecasting, and business case development. Proficiency with Excel and Tableau; SQL, Amplitude, SPSS, or R a plus.</li> <li>Proven ability to develop pricing programs, secure approvals, and implement them cross-functionally, including competitive and customer insights to improve profitability.</li> <li>Proven success partnering with product, finance or technical leaders to support strategic execution and achieve shared objectives.</li> <li>Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional efforts and influence stakeholders at all levels.</li> <li>Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.</li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and high ambiguity.</li> <li>Experience in health tech, wearables, or consumer technology is strongly desired.</li> </ul>
