You will be one of the key team members developing new exciting sensing capacities and user-facing features for Oura’s next-gen products.We have offices in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based on New York, Boston, or in the Eastern time zone.What you will do: <ul> <li>Contribute to the research, development and deployment of signal processing and machine learning algorithms for Oura features/products.</li> <li>Conduct early stage exploratory research to identify and characterize new potential sensing features and functionality. Develop proof-of-concept features and work with a cross-functional team to take these from POC to a commercialized product.</li> <li>Design and support internal and external data collection studies to develop, evaluate, benchmark and improve new biomarkers and algorithms.</li> <li>Document, summarize, and present data analysis and algorithm performance results with concrete actionable recommendations for a broad audience on a regular basis.</li> <li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams and overseas stakeholders.</li> </ul>We would love to have you on our team if you have:<ul> <li>Have a PhD degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biostatistics, computer science or a related field with 3+ years of work experience, OR a Master degree in related fields with 5+ years work experience. Experience with biosignal or movement data is a plus.</li> <li>Have experience building and deploying machine learning models from start to finish (i.e., data wrangling/queries, data cleaning, model building &amp; tuning, statistical evaluation of model performance). Experience deploying on the edge with compute-limited devices is a plus.</li> <li>Have 3+ years of solid programming skills in Python and experience with code collaboration tools (git, peer review, etc). Experience with C/C++ is a plus.</li> <li>Have some experience with signal processing methods and time-series analysis (FIR/IIR filters, Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering, stochastic processes, etc)</li> <li>Have a pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can move quickly and prioritize effectively</li> <li>Have good asynchronous communication skills and can accommodate occasional off hour meetings to work with Oura’s European teams</li> </ul>
