As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office. </p><p>We are looking for a MCAD/PLM Engineer to  join our hardware team working on future wearables, reporting directly to the VP of Hardware.  This position is a hybrid role and will be based out of our San Diego or San Francisco office.</p><p>What you will do: </p><p><strong>Mechanical &amp; Industrial Design Support</strong></p><ul> <li>Serve as the primary technical expert for MCAD support across Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design, ensuring seamless collaboration across disciplines.</li> <li>Help align CAD practices between engineering and ID to support concept iteration, surfacing workflows, and late-stage design changes.</li> <li>Support ID workflows such as Class-A surfacing, geometry translation, and visualization model pipeline optimization.</li> <li>Help support with mechanical design and CAD integration as needed for the teams</li> </ul><h3>Tool Ownership &amp; Process Leadership</h3><ul> <li>Own the full lifecycle of CAD and PLM tools (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, etc.), including evaluation, license procurement, configuration, deployment, and long-term strategy.</li> <li>Lead cross-functional tool initiatives, integrating CAD/PLM with enterprise systems</li> <li>Define and enforce standards for model structure, data integrity, version control, and release management across all mechanical and industrial design assets.</li> </ul><h3>Infrastructure &amp; Server Management</h3><ul> <li>Partner with IT to deploy, maintain, and optimize all CAD and PLM infrastructure, including license management, application servers, and cloud integrations.</li> <li>Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security in a distributed environment with global teams and contractors.</li> <li>Own backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical design data and configuration files.</li> </ul><ul> <li>10+ years of experience with MCAD and PLM tools in a consumer electronics or high-volume hardware environment.</li> <li>Deep knowledge of CAD/PLM tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Teamcenter) and best practices for tool integration.</li> <li>Proven experience supporting and training both Mechanical and Industrial Design teams.</li> <li>Strong understanding of configuration management, digital workflows, and product data governance.</li> <li>Comfortable working at the intersection of engineering, IT, and product development.</li> </ul><p>Preferred:</p><ul> <li>Familiarity with cloud-based PLM and remote collaboration tools.</li> <li>Experience with containerized deployments (e.g., Docker), CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS).</li> <li>Exposure to rendering, visualization, and file conversion workflows used in ID processes.</li> </ul>
