As an Oura Director, Manufacturing, you will drive manufacturing activities in the region and collaborate with the Manufacturing team globally. You will manage the regional Oura manufacturing team, and own Contract Manufacturer and Supplier team efforts to develop manufacturing solutions for Oura.
You are located at the crossroads of Oura Manufacturing, R&D, and Supply Chain. You will work alongside our R&D Engineering teams and CM factories to develop and ramp NPI programs, supporting the mission critical goal of quality and quantity. You are equally comfortable taking the lead on the factory floor as you are with planning and management responsibilities.
This is a US Hybrid role located in our San Francisco office (2-3 days per week) with bi-weekly travel to our San Diego office.
What you will do:
- Manage Manufacturing technical topics with Contract Manufacturers in the Americas region
- Drive Manufacturing readiness activities for Oura NPI programs
- Ensure 100% quality and quantity in product deliveries
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance product reliability
- Identify and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and trends
- Implement and optimize manufacturing automation and technology solutions in collaboration with the Global Oura Manufacturing team
- Drive objectives to support company strategy and business requirements
- Develop and execute strategic manufacturing plans aligned with company growth objectives
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through process improvements, lean manufacturing principles, and efficient resource allocation to minimize MVA (Manufacturing Value Add)
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to manufacturing operations; develop and implement contingency plans to ensure business continuity
- Lead cross functional collaboration with internal and external partners
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Contribute to supply planning and manage capacity planning for the region
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs; yield, cost, capacity, deliveries) to track manufacturing performance and drive improvements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- 10+ years of experience working in Supply Chain Manufacturing Management roles, preferably within the consumer electronics industry and ideally with wearables or similar mobile devices
- 5+ years of experience managing Contract Manufacturers of consumer electronics
- 7+ years of experience managing prototype builds, ramp-ups and mass production of consumer electronics products in a high volume NPI Development Cycle
- 5+ years of experience managing Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturer pricing and MVA
- Experience managing a team, working collaboratively and effectively in complex global environments with cross-functional teams, external parties, and factories
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically 25% to 50% of the time and flexibility to attend regular global meetings outside of typical US working hours. Additionally, regular travel to our San Diego office is expected.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven track record of creating and communicating business cases, project plans, progress reports, and executive summaries to partners at all levels of the organization
