<p></p><p>As a BIOS Engineer at Onlogic, youll be at the heart of our product development, working on innovative, in-house projects. Youll partner with IBVs (Independent BIOS Vendors) to develop essential BIOS features and lead our ODM BIOS teams to meet our companys needs. This is a hands-on role where youll be part of the internal BIOS/FW team in customizing and developing features, managing the entire product lifecycle from initial concept and development through prototyping, validation, and volume production.</p><p></p><h3>In this role, you’ll be responsible for:</h3><ul> <li>Ensuring hands-on involvement throughout the entire product lifecycle.</li> <li>Working with remote management capabilities (e.g., vPro, BMC SOCs) and supporting firmware build/release processes.</li> <li>Addressing cross-platform user experience issues by developing standardized solutions and producing reusable code assets.</li> <li>Providing technical feedback on product concepts, with a focus on firmware impact and optimization.</li> <li>Collaborating with hardware engineers to investigate and debug platform issues.</li> <li>Performing debugging and optimization to ensure firmware reliability and performance.</li> <li>Building proof-of-concept solutions to stay current with firmware innovation and industry standards.</li> </ul><p>The team you will be joining: </p><p>Our Engineering team creates our cutting edge industrial computers by finding innovative solutions on a daily basis. Roles on our Engineering team include, Electrical, Mechanical, Applications and Regulatory.</p><p></p><ul><li>Learn more about <a href="https://www.onlogic.com/company/careers/life-at-onlogic/">Life at OnLogic. </a> </li></ul><p></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.</li> <li>6 to 10 years of firmware development experience preferably in the Industrial PC industry.</li> <li>Strong collaboration skills across engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, firmware, testing).</li> <li>Proficiency in C and Assembly software design is essential, as is a solid understanding of software architecture, design, and debugging. </li> <li>Familiarity with C++ and Python is also highly valued.</li> <li>Expertise in firmware debugging with JTAG-based debuggers and logic analyzers.</li> <li>Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development workflows.</li> <li>Deep understanding of x86 PC and ARM hardware architectures.</li> <li>Familiarity with pre-boot architectures and related technologies (e.g., UEFI, BIOS, PCIe, SATA, USB, ACPI, TPM, SMBIOS, NVRAM).</li> <li>Extensive experience with microcontroller architectures.</li> <li>Satisfactory completion of a background check</li> </ul><p></p><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul> <li>Hands-on experience developing within and enabling platforms using TianoCore EDKII, AMI Aptio, or Insyde H2O.</li> <li>Expertise in x86 architecture</li> <li>Experience with industrial or embedded computing platforms.</li> <li>Experience with Trusted Computing &amp; Security Technologies, including TPM, Secure Boot, TXT, and Root of Trust.</li> <li>Experience working with ODMs, IBVs, silicon vendors, and solution integrators.</li> <li>The ability to perform system-level debugging is a core skill, including working directly with PC hardware and using specialized tools like ITP (In-Target Probe) or logic analyzers to diagnose complex system and silicon issues.</li> <li>Familiar with ARM-based architectures is a plus</li> <li>Knowledge of BIOS interaction with BMC/IPMI is a plus</li> </ul><p></p><h3>Who were looking for:</h3><p></p><ul> <li>A self-motivated person who can work independently and who takes action without being asked. </li> <li>You work best in a high-energy, fast growing industrial computer environment. </li> <li>You like solving problems and you want to learn more. </li> <li>You have experience with UEFI BIOS enablement of x86 or ARM based systems, ideally for industrial applications. </li> </ul>
