The Automotive Vehicles team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Engineer to help us bring NVIDIAs autonomous vehicle solution out to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will redefine the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. You will work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our AV SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all meaningful NVIDIA and automotive standards &amp; guidelines. As a senior/principal software engineer, your primary role will be to build robust and scalable simulation infrastructure that will enable us to test and validate our self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.What you will be doing:<ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain software infrastructure that supports large-scale, high-fidelity simulation of autonomous driving systems.</li><li>Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, test engineering, and release to build and scale test solutions that address gaps in coverage and frameworks and mitigate risks to the project.</li><li>Build and improve tools that automate the testing process, enabling a culture of test-driven development across the company.</li><li>Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem solving.</li><li>Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues that affect the performance and reliability of our simulation infrastructure.</li></ul>What we need to see:<ul><li>BS (or equivalent experience), MS, or PhD in Engineering or Science field.</li><li>8+ years of software engineering and data analysis experience, preferably in the field of simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence or related areas.</li><li>Proficiency in Python, C++ or similar high-level programming languages.</li><li>Experience with distributed computing and cloud technologies.</li><li>Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test-driven development.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform in situations with high ambiguity and competing priorities.</li><li>Curiosity and a desire to “get into the weeds” of a problem</li></ul>Ways to stand out from the crowd:<ul><li>Experience with scaling the use of autonomous vehicles simulation frameworks.</li><li>Background with or knowledge of AI/ML systems, or a background in working with AI-native systems</li><li>Experience in large-scale simulation for hardware or software validation of any robotics solution.</li></ul>Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
