We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to support the development of a crucial GPU firmware. In this role, you will be a key member of a team of innovators, challenging the status quo and pushing beyond boundaries. You will have the opportunity to impact the industrys leading GPUs impacting product lines ranging from consumer graphics to self-driving cars and the growing field of artificial intelligence.What youll be doing:<ul><li>Support development of (bare metal) firmware run on embedded microcontrollers within NVIDIA GPUs.</li><li>Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to architect new features and guide future development.</li><li>Optimize software to improve system robustness, performance and security.</li><li>Participate in testing new and existing firmware.</li><li>Perform system bring-up, debug, and validation.</li><li>Ensure compliance to functional safety standards (ISO 26262 and ASPICE). This includes defining requirements, architecture and design with end-to-end traceability, performing safety analyses - FMEA/DFA/FTA and ensuring code compliance to MISRA and Cert-C standards.</li></ul>What we need to see:<ul><li>Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related degree or equivalent experience</li><li>At least 5+ years of meaningful experience</li><li>Proven software engineering background with experience in embedded software development</li><li>Proficiency in C/C++</li><li>Understanding of the software development life-cycle, from requirements to testing closure and maintenance</li><li>Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessors, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, DMA, etc)</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with on-site and remote teams</li><li>Strong debugging and analytical skills</li></ul>Ways to stand out from the crowd:<ul><li>Familiarity with general HW concepts</li><li>Experience with functional safety</li><li>Background with security risk analysis</li></ul>NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
