People Operations and Learning & Development Administrator (6 Month FTC)

As an HR and L&D Administrator, you will play a key supporting role in delivering a first-class management and employee experience. Reporting to the People Business Partner for People Operations, you will be responsible for the smooth running of administrative processes within the People Operations team, your role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy, providing day-to-day support to employees and managers, and reflecting Newton’s values in everything you do.

Your attention to detail, professional and proactive approach will mean that you always seek to improve processes and offer insightful challenge to ensure a process of continuous improvement.

Core day to day responsibilities will include:

  • HR Administration: Coordinating and managing the day-to-day administration of people processes, including the HR inbox and from the end-to-end employment life cycle including, but not limited to; new starters, appraisals, promotions, pay and leavers.
  • Training Administration: managing the Training inbox, including liaising with venues, suppliers, finalising contracts and overseeing training attendance.
  • Data Management: Validate, maintain and update employee records, ensuring all information is current and accurately entered into our HR system.
  • First-Line Support: Respond to general HR and learning and development queries from employees and managers, directing them to the appropriate resources, or escalating as needed.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all employee records and documents are compliant with company policies and employment law and support with updates to policies and any internal/external audits as required. Ensure that processes are effectively documented.
  • Support with People Projects: Contribute to a variety of people-related projects, such as learning and development research, employee engagement activities, diversity initiatives, and consistently look for ways to improve and streamline our processes and procedures, proactively taking action on these as appropriate.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Support the preparation of HR and training metrics and reports as required and providing a level of analysis as is required.

You will also be a positive ambassador for the People function, passionate about your career in HR and driven by ongoing professional development.

This role is ideal for someone who is in the early stages of their HR career, who is looking to develop their skills and experience.

You will also possess the following attributes:

  • Previous experience in an HR support or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
  • A self-starter attitude with a pro-active ability to generate ideas and implement improvements.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion and exemplify a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the HR field.
  • Have a genuine interest in people with an eagerness to develop a career in HR and/or L&D.
  • A proven ability to manage multiple, conflicting demands on your time yet still move all areas ahead at a pace and prioritise effectively.
  • Level 3 CIPD qualification or working towards this is desirable.

This is a hybrid role with approximately 2 days per week spent in our Head Office. There may also be occasional UK travel to ad hoc meetings.
