To learn more about the domain, here are some links related to what we do: <a href="https://netflixtechblog.medium.com/new-series-creating-media-with-machine-learning-5067ac110bcd" target="_blank">Creating Media with Machine Learning</a> and <a href="https://research.netflix.com/research-area/computer-vision" target="_blank">Computer Vision Research at Netflix</a>.We are looking for a Research Scientist with demonstrated experience in generative computer vision (CV) and/or related areas such as computer graphics (CG) to research and develop algorithms and models that will be incorporated into the tools used by content creators throughout the production lifecycle.In this role, you will:<ul><li>Research and prototype reusable algorithms for the full cycle of machine learning in the multimedia domain, such as data processing, feature extraction, distributed model training with GPUs, and deploying the produced models into production</li><li>Design, train/post-train/fine-tune, and evaluate algorithmic solutions with applications in a variety of domains, pushing forward the state of the art in CV as needed</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with machine learning engineers, product managers, as well as creative and business partners and stakeholders, to help define research directions</li><li>Expand technical depth and domain expertise into new/adjacent areas as the business needs and the state of technology evolve</li></ul><h3>About you:</h3><ul><li>Research experience with a successful track record of delivering quality results and/or academic publications in top ML, CV, or CG venues</li><li>Deep familiarity with modern generative model architectures, including diffusion models and/or autoregressive models </li><li>Experience with the full stack of model development: data curation, annotation/captioning, distributed training, post-training techniques, and/or robust evaluation.</li><li>Expertise in designing and training deep learning (DL) and diffusion architectures for media generation, with a broad understanding of DL methods and literature</li><li>Extensive experience with DL frameworks such as Tensorflow or PyTorch</li><li>Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++</li><li>Great interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical partners</li><li>Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field</li></ul><h3>Bonus experience:</h3><ul><li>Cutting-edge work on modern generative methods and their building blocks</li><li>Expertise in 3D vision and/or graphics</li><li>Industry experience in the content creation domain, such as animation, games, or visual effects, and a track record of developing tools/solutions in these (or closely relevant) areas</li><li>Experience with tools for generative models, such as ComfyUI </li><li>Computer graphics and VFX tools and game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, or Nuke</li></ul>Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.
