Echelon Claims Services, a division of Echelon Australia Pty Ltd, offers a premier claims management service, specializing in insurance operations and self-insurance programs. A full-time position currently exists for a Senior Claims Consultant managing liability claims within our Melbourne team. Your portfolio of clients will predominantly be Victorian Councils.
In this position you will complete a variety of duties, including liaising with claimants, clients, solicitors, repairers, and assessors, whilst conducting general claims duties. The successful applicant will be well organized, highly motivated and have a positive attitude. This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, collaborative, friendly and successful team.
We will count on you to:
- Liaise with the Manager to provide any relevant information to ensure the successful and efficient ongoing operation of the claim’s unit.
- Accept full responsibility for the day-to-day management and updating of a claims portfolio and ensure an accurate record of the claims status is maintained.
- Liaise with clients and claimants to ensure appropriate, timely and cost-effective resolution of liability claims.
- Make recommendations to clients and negotiate settlement of claims after obtaining the authority of the relevant client.
- Ensure that any file that exceeds the client’s insurance excess is referred to the relevant insurer and update claims database appropriately
- Ensure regular communication with clients regarding progress of claims and to ascertain the client’s satisfaction with the way their claims are being managed.
- Participate in regular meetings of claims unit staff to assist in identifying possible streamlining/improvements to existing claims procedures.
- Assist in delivering approved training programmes to client staff as requested.
What you need to have:
- Prior experience managing claims
- Public liability claims experience would be highly regarded
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated initiative and understanding when managing confidential information.
