We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Cloud Platforms team at Marsh McLennan, based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. .
We will count on you to:
Operational Support for public cloud technology solutions, primarily focused on the AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of AWS and Azure public cloud technologies to ensure all appropriate options are considered to support business initiatives.
Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Project Managers, Developers, and Engineering teams, to resolve technical obstacles and improve the products vision.
Work closely with multiple Project Management and Software Engineering teams on understanding ways to improve IaaS and PaaS service offerings.
What you need to have:
Public cloud operations engineering with extensive industry-specific experience.
Experience of Oracle.
AWS or Azure public cloud experience in an operational capacity. AWS or Azure Certification is nice to have, strong experience with a desire to complete certification will be considered
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including but not limited to core IaaS (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, ELB) and native AWS PaaS Services (Lambda, AWS Config, EMR, Athena, EKS, etc.)
Hands-on experience with Azure public cloud, including core (compute, storage, networking) platform, PaaS and IAM offerings.
Infrastructure experience (Server Administration, Networking, Storage, Security)
A commitment to best practices and striving for the elimination of manual operational processes to promote a DevOps oriented software delivery model.
We are seeking a candidate who are interested in developing into a team manager role in the long term.
What makes you stand out?
Prior experience implementing enterprise cloud management platforms.
DevOps/coding skills in Python 3.x, CloudFormation, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
Experience with REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and PaaS technologies.
Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications.
Experience mentoring or managing a small team.
