Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (Versant) comprised of most of NBCUniversals cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
NBCUniversal’s Intellectual Property Analytics, Operations, and Technology (IPAOT) team supports NBCUniversal’s content globally with four key areas: (1) developing more secure and scalable frameworks for Internet-based video distribution, (2) improving security technologies and processes in content production and distribution, (3) addressing voluminous copyright infringements on websites, apps and protocols, and (4) analyzing data to measure and understand the drivers of unlicensed video consumption on the Internet.
Role Purpose:
The IPAOT – Content Security team at NBCUniversal is looking for a talented, data-driven individual who will take a support role in the assessment, analysis and direction of our vendor security assessment programs. This role will work closely with the business to understand content-related pain points and serve as a go-to for policy and security-based questions. The ideal candidate will use their security experience to help shape existing programs and architect new ones, with a focus on implementing more secure technologies for teams across production, post-production and distribution. This is a fast-paced role responsible for interfacing with many internal business units, 3rd party vendors and executive stakeholders at NBCUniversal.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee internal encryption software ecosystem, including user onboarding and offboarding, access control, and day-to-day troubleshooting to ensure secure and seamless operations
- Ensure vendor data is current and free of discrepancies within internal vendor management tracking system
- Coordinate and schedule security engagements with 3rd party vendors by following a defined assessment process
- Coordinate and schedule remediation follow-ups with 3rd party vendors
- Regularly create reports for all aspects of 3rd party assessment programs using Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Regularly engage with business stakeholders and act as a point person for all content security-related topics
- Develop project timelines and manage project deliverables
- May be required to perform other job-related duties as needed and assigned
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum three years’ experience in technology space, with demonstrated experience in security arenas
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of MPA’s Content Security Program, including Management Systems, Physical Security, Digital Security and Cloud & Application Security
- Thorough understanding of encryption technologies, both file-based and file-system-based encryption at-rest and in-motion
- Experience with content protection technologies such as visible/invisible/forensic watermarking and detection, along with single, multi-key and session-based watermarks
- Knowledge of network architecture, including firewalls, VLANs, subnets and IP routing
- Experience with authoritative security sources such as ISO and NIST
- Experience with secure file transfer technologies and methods such as Signiant and Aspera
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, with ability to interface with various departments, outside vendors and contractors both in-person and remotely
- Ability to effectively retrieve data and prepare presentations for stakeholders at all levels
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to orchestrate and execute multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction while maintaining a strong focus on business priorities and ensuring follow-through

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
