The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.<h3>Job Description</h3>Versant Media has an opportunity for a talented individual to join their Technical Operations team as an Operational Technical Manager. You will be responsible for providing front-line management of personnel, facilities, equipment, operations and technology for a customer driven production operations group. You will oversee day to day technical and logistical requirements of on-air programming supporting MSNBC (soon to be MS Now), CNBC and any Versant Productions, while working with leadership and scheduling to ensure staffing requirements are met throughout the day. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Front-line management for day-to-day operations</li><li>Follow up on all reliability tickets with engineering and operations.</li><li>Assess workflow changes for increased reliability. </li><li>Ensure efficient utilization of company resources within a fast paced rapidly changing environment.</li><li>Work with scheduling and leadership to identify efficiencies in the daily schedule.</li><li>Contribute to the performance review process.</li><li>Assist in the strategic financial planning process and the development and tracking of short and long-term budgets.</li><li>Maintain technical and broadcast quality.</li><li>Work closely with engineering to ensure all equipment meets client expectations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3>Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelors Degree in Communications, Engineering or equivalent field.</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience in live, studio television production, experience in engineering support and operational experience in broadcast studio and production control room.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience with field/remote production processes and equipment (including satellite/telco and communications) experience.</li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.</li><li>Must understand digital production and file-based workflows in FCP environment.</li><li>Must have proficient computer skills, including Apple, Outlook, MS Word, Excel.</li><li>Must have strong administrative and organizational skills.</li><li>Must have managerial skills and technical crew management experience</li><li>Strong on-air operations and technical background</li><li>Ability to work all shifts including days, overnights, weekends and holidays</li><li>Deep working knowledge with control room and studio technology</li><li>Solid leadership, clear communication, excellent interpersonal, and team building skills required.</li><li>Demonstrated management experience and customer focused.</li><li>Excellent team facilitation and knowledge of team problem solving techniques</li><li>Ability to Facilitate change, serve as a change agent in the organization</li><li>Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and challenges at the same time</li><li>Work well under pressure, including tight deadlines.</li><li>Clear communication skills with the ability to be effective across diverse groups throughout the company and external vendors.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills.</li><li>Success in management of represented personnel and knowledge of relevant collective bargaining agreements with NABET, IATSE, and DGA.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice</li></ul>Additional Information  This position is required to be performed full-time from a Versant-designated worksite. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
