The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>The NBC News Breaking News Specials team is seeking a skilled<strong> Line Producer</strong> to help lead the control room during breaking news coverage and support Specials/Nightly News. You’ll work closely with the Senior Producer to ensure all production elements are in place for seamless live broadcasts during major news events.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Build and manage rundowns, ensuring all segments, graphics, and video elements are ready for air</li><li>Help coordinate field teams, booking and live remotes during major breaking news</li><li>Serve as a primary editorial/control room contact during weekend days</li><li>Collaborate with Senior Producers and the Specials team to anticipate resources needed for major-event coverage</li><li>Troubleshoot technical or logistical issues in real time to minimize on-air disruptions</li><li>Partner with technical, graphics, audio, and talent departments to maintain top-tier production quality</li><li>Produce live cut-ins, special segments, and additional content as needed</li><li>Must be willing to backfill Weekend Overnight Breaking News Senior Producer approx. 4-6 weeks a year, as lead editorial watch for breaking news between Nightly and Today</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>3+ years of line producing or coordinating live broadcast news programming</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience</li><li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under tight deadlines</li><li>Excellent communication skills for collaborating with across editorial, technical, and talent teams under tight deadline</li><li>Expertise in control-room operations from rundown creation through final sign-off</li><li>Excellent editorial judgment with knowledge of NBC News Standards</li><li>Proficiency with automated control-room systems and rundown tools—or clear aptitude to learn them quickly</li><li>Flexibility for overnight and weekend schedules, including holidays with on-call availability for unplanned breaking-news shifts</li><li>Must be willing and able to work in person at 30 Rock Saturday thru Wednesday</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Characteristics:</strong></p><ul><li>Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex logistics in a live-news environment</li><li>Resourceful problem-solver who stays calm under pressure</li><li>Strong communicator who can coordinate across diverse production units</li><li>Collaborative team player dedicated to supporting editorial excellence</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Required On-Site:</strong> This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.</li></ul><p>This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
