In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers to develop innovative experiences for our internal stakeholders, primarily focusing on creating a custom lab software solution for a high-throughput laboratory. This is a remote position with regular travel to the San Carlos, California, or Austin, Texas offices.   RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> <li> Design, develop, and maintain scalable services that support the diverse activities of a high-throughput laboratory. </li> <li> Develop both front-end and back-end applications. </li> <li> Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. </li> <li> Develop comprehensive unit tests to ensure high code quality. </li> <li> Provide production support to lab users </li> </ul>   QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li> BS degree in computer science, comparable program, or equivalent </li> <li> 7+ years of overall software development experience, preferably building complex data or process management applications in production </li> <li> Experience with object-oriented programming in Java, preferably using open-source frameworks such as Spring Frameworks and Hibernate </li> <li> Experience with web services (REST, etc) </li> <li> Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL programming, with a preference for MySQL or PostgreSQL. </li> <li>  Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm). </li> <li> Proficiency in leveraging AWS services, including Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Glue. </li> <li> Proficiency in messaging frameworks such as Kafka. </li> <li>  Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Typescript, JavaScript, etc.) </li> <li> Strong quality assurance mindset with a commitment to delivering robust and reliable software. </li> <li> Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. </li> <li> Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels. </li> </ul>   NICE TO HAVE: <ul> <li> Experience building custom Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or Laboratory Execution Systems (LES). </li> <li> Experience with configurable Laboratory Information Management Systems such as LabVantage </li> <li> Collaborate closely with end-users and product managers to iterate on requirements and deliverables. </li> <li> Optimize architecture and infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. </li> <li> Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability. </li> <li> Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. </li> </ul>    <div><div><div>The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years &amp; depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
